Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
So I just saw this potential trade scenario:
Redskins get: 2012 2nd overall pick: RGIII Rams get: 2012 6th overall pick 2013 1st rounder 2013 3rd rounder 2013 5th rounder You guys still feel that's too much? |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
^ I said bring him in. Lets kick the tires as long as he's cut and we don't have to trade players or picks to get him. I would hope his work habits would run off on whoever is sitting behind him on the roster. If healthy he'd have to be 50% better then what we already have.
But on this issue I'm a skeptic. I thinks he's done and would love to have him here in order to be able to offer (when the time came) a coaching job to work with the young guns down the road.
My god, I cannot believe what we are hearing. you all are comparing Peyton to how we treated a Larry frikkin Johnson the other year, "might as well kick the tires on him". Let me remind you that this is peyton manning. so he would be 50% better than what we already have?? really? how about 10000% better. Peyton manning is the best quarterback we have ever seen play, he is the utmost professional and hard worker. If fat boy rex grossman can learn kyles system in a couple years, then peyton manning will master it in a couple months. 50 percent better, lol, man was that statement disconnected. I actually cannot believe what I hear. Peyton would be a BLESSING to this team should he sign here. And, lets also get this straight. If he did come here, I think little kyle shanahan would take a backseat, and peyton would implement HIS offense, instead of the other way around. This is PEYTON MANNING we are talking about, 36 years old or not, he will instantly be the best quarterback to EVER play for this franchise, INSTANTLY. I think the premium being put on a "system" or even age is getting a little out of hand. Its football, whatever terminology is used, and Manning is a complete and utter MASTER of his trade. I go to bed praying at night, because absolutely nothing bad could come of a peyton manning signing here in DC. There is no way that could set us back further than we already are or have been, and anyone else saying otherwise is just fooling themselves. Just say the name. Peyyyyyton Mannnning. Ok, get it? |

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Peyton Manning plays better than Rex Grossman when he's partially 50% healthy half the time when Grossman is playing at 110% when he's sick.

That's not what I asked. |

How? Its three picks? One of which carries the value of Niles Paul and Dejon Gomes. We keep all our picks this year and get our potential franchise QB. I would take that deal all day. |

The part of me which feels that fans and draft sites value RGIII more highly than NFL front office types says, "RGIII will be there at 6 so there's no point." |

Peyton Manning medically cleared to resume NFL career, per sources. More coming on ESPN now. #NFL32 |

I think it's cheap actually. No way we move up without including this years #2 in addition to next years #1. |

Heard there was a pretty heated discussion among some of the NFL insiders at ESPN about what their sources are telling them. Oh how I miss those meetings. But anyway, that's big if he's indeed cleared to play. Still think Jets and Cardinals are the favorites but I'm not hating the idea of him in B & G. Though I still don't believe we're officially interested |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Some people here need to understand that franchise QB's are the hardest thing to find in the NFL.
When we offer up Orakpo, we're offering up a player that can be found draft, after draft, after draft. Pass rushers can be found not only in the first round, but a very few some have been found in the later rounds and undrafted. When we are offering up 3rd, 4th, 5th rounders for a potential franchise QB. Picks (3,4,5) that are worth less and less in value for a potential QB, the Key to winning in this QB driven league; you make that trade, screw those picks for this year. This is the year you get that franchise QB at whatever cost it is. |
