Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I figured Te'o would run in the 4.75 range at best so I'm not overly concerned with his 40 time.
I'm still more concerned about his web of lies with the imaginary girlfriend BS and even his excuses after his poor combine kinda turned me off. I'd pass on the guy even in the 2nd. I just don't think he's anything special. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Secondary Players that I want to learn more about after the combine:
Shamarko Thomas S Syracuse David Amerson CB NC State Robert Alford CB Southeastern LA Steve Williams (had a 4.25 40 the offical time is BS)- also 40.5 vert and 128 inch broad jump. Tyrann Mathieu- He did very well- not counting the bench press |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Mathieu is another guy that I think that can just play football. I don't care how much he benches. His off the field issues are going to hurt his value... but however drafts him, and if they can keep his head on straight, and he accepts good coaching..he can end up being the steal of the draft. I'd love for us to get him in the mid rounds.

I somewhat agree that he is overrated, but I do think he was telling the truth about the "girlfriend". He's smart enough to know that if teams find out he's lying, it's over for him. Anyway, I would love to see the guy wearing a burgundy and gold jersey. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Duke Williams and Shamarrko Williams would be steals in the secondary late in the draft.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I watched shamarko Thomas and wasn't all that impressed. Mayock calls him a poor mans bob sanders, which if we're talking about being injured often, that's not good.

He is this year's Janoris Jenkins. I love his answers to interviews at the combine. His answers where genuine and what they should have been for someone who has screwed up their shot. He knows it, and he wants to prove himself. I would love to draft the honey badger. He is my 4th/5th round diamond in the rough hopeful pick. Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I agree mathieu is a hardnosed football player. He always finds a way to the football. Sure he's small. Sure he is "weak" for not putting up 225lb 10 or more times. The point is I can name a lot of NFL guys who don't have the measurable a but can play.
Russell Wilson (height) Boldin (speed) Antoine Winfield (height and injury history) Bob sanders (height and injury history-that one he couldn't seem to shake off) Tom Brady (speed, frame, arm strength) Darren sproles (size) Drew Brees (height, arm strength) The list goes on and on |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
You cannot over look his combine and even more important his play against Alabama. He was awful in that game, and that is a problem. Out of position many times and couldn't shed a block from NFL level talent.
There are teams out there that will draft him in round one, but it will be a mistake. He may be a football player but I think he will fail as an NFL elite player or even as a good one. |

As a matter of fact I can guarantee you that unless there is a bat $#!% crazy GM out there, he won't go in the top two rounds and maybe not even in the top three. I see him in the 4th-5th round. I give 3rd round a 50/50 shot. 1st and 2nd rounds, no chance. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
No sorry I was speaking about Teo.
I would draft the badger in the middle rounds. He has upside and fills multiple needs. Another guy who I find intriguing for our team is Denard Robinson. Think of the pistol with Morris, RG III, and DR in the backfield. A lot of different options to go with a package like that. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I will add this as well. Adding a player with the versatility of Harvin or in this years draft Tryvon Austin (will go round 1 no shot) would make our team even scarier on offense.

Tryvon Austin??? Really??? |

At the time he was grieving for his fake dead girlfriend. Fake grief is distracting. |

Tayvon Austin is moving up people's boards. I feel fairly certain he can go late first round. He is an explosive athlete and current NFL offenses put more credence on the quick, shifty slot receiver/running back/kick returner combo guys like Percy Harvin. |
