Re: Current 2014 Free Agents
O-Line---Michael Oher/Alex Mack/Wade Smith ?
Alex Mack is a great player but if he were to become a UFA he would cost about eleventy bazillion dollars to sign. Highly unlikely for us, I would think. |
Re: Current 2014 Free Agents
Has anyone been given the franchise tag yet?
You know what? You are refutable. Riley is a good player and he's getting better.
I wouldn't mind picking up Jackson, though.
giving Riley $5-$7 million per year is crazy, you might get the same production from Kenan Robinson, or a rookie....and it would cost 10% as much as Riley would make Save the money for O-lineman.... Mack, Collins, Asmoah, Colon, etc. Update: The Redskins are one of 7 teams to contact D. Jackson |
Sure, let him try out. You can't deny his work ethic.
I doubt he'd make it but hey, let him prove he's done.
Ive never been a TO hater, but I dont want this guy anywhere around camp or our new head coach just because of the media circus that would follow him. We need ZERO distractions from now until week one. |
Re: Current 2014 Free Agents
Don't get it either.
People preach about developing our own talent, but then always have their eyes on everyone else's talent. Doesn't make much sense to me to let a 25 year old LB who has played well in our system walk.
Particularly when the other ILB spot ALREADY needs to be filled. So let's pay for guys who are either going to be (1) overpriced by market demand; (2) short term cheaper older guys on the downside of their career and who are unfamiliar with our system; or (3) unwanted younger guys of questionable talent who are also unfamiliar with our system - IN BOTH ILB SPOTS. That's sounds like an excellent plan. |

At this point there is no reason to believe that Robinson is not made of glass. |

@TheIrishJihad Can't pay a good player elite money period. It messes up your whole salary cap structure. This is my whole deal with paying Orakpo elite money. I'd rather him walk. |

If we got Riley and Jackson at ilb that would be outstanding. Jackson would be a really good signing. Cleveland is just really baffling this offseason. |
Re: Current 2014 Free Agents
I'd scoop up Jackson in a second. It's one of those moves that would work out GREAT for another NFCE team. WE need that.
|
Re: Current 2014 Free Agents
They say that Jackson and the Browns broke up amicably after a salary reduction effort was rejected. Therefore perhaps Jackson will want $$. But he would look good in the b&g.
