Unfortunately, it seems that most NFL teams treat their cheerleaders like crap. Given how much the league has looked into domestic abuse and whatnot, they should really look into how teams treat their cheerleaders.
Couple of things here,

The Director of these girls should be fired ......immediately.No one should have to go through that.

I doubt Dan or Bruce knew this was going on,Dan might not be a super football guy but I can not see him giving this a green light!

I don't give my passport to anyone , these girls are not children there is a reason they do this either to be seen or meet someone, money was never a reason to be an NFL cheerleader(at least not directly)....still doesn't make it right.

As a player they are obnoxious and just get in the way, they are only eye candy for the fans and that is all they have ever been. I say this becuase I have know three Redskin cheerleaders over the years, friends daughters and friends of my daughters.Which goes back to my post above, not one thought by being a Redskin cheerleader they were helping the team win.

Glade the Giants don't have them.

Perception is everything, and right now the perception is that Redskins executives wanted these girls to play hostess to high rollers at private parties.

I'm guessing the girls sat on this for a while until they realized the public generally doesn't care about cheerleaders or the below-minimum wage they make. This might even be the turning point for them to be fairly compensated.

The source of the story has an agenda unfortunately. Searching redskins with the source, you find a series of stories about the Redskins name and them constantly crying about it.

So when you try and can’t get the name change, then you try a smear campaign. Journalism 101.

Fuck this story

It is foolish to immediately disregard this story, it is serious issue if it is true. NFL definitely needs to initiate investigation on this story to see if there's truth to it.

Same reason as everything else: money. The NFL has it and they want more of it.

Some of these girls make ...maybe 50$ a game. They do deserve more than that if you want them to represent your team in a professional manor. As I said I just don't think there is a need for "cheerleaders " in pro football.

gotta spell it out for G1 folks. New York Times...that's who did the story. Their history with anything Redskins related has been about the name and how they promote the faux outrage.

I mean like these groups not single victims, if this was so bad 5 years ago you would think SOMEONE would have stepped up... Kinda getting old now, the boy who cried wolf kinda thing.

I think women are finally feeling empowered to speak up, thanks to the #metoo movement. Good for them.

Also, while it does seem that the journalist has an agenda, that really doesn't have anything to do with whether or not what these women described actually happened. The facts are the facts. IF what is being reported is actually true, then it was clearly WRONG and everyone involved in this needs to be fired. Hopefully other teams will learn from this and ensure they are treating all of their employees properly.

Have you not been paying attention to the news the past year?

Women (and some men) who have been sexually harassed (or worse) are speaking out. In most cases, the abuse happened years - even decades - before. Why didn't they speak out sooner? Because they didn't think they could (without repercussions). Like the entertainment industry, the sports industry is dominated almost entirely by powerful rich white MEN. There is the fear of, not only losing your job, but not being able to find another job of being blacklisted.
