War Horse
I thought it was decent. Go see it with your SWMBO or your teenager. Plenty of horsey stuff and some decent WW I action. |

He showed me this extended trailer and told me that after the movie he wanted to cry his eyes out and punch a hole in the wall at the same time. I'm like, do I want to watch this? So is it worth it? It's obviously pretty moving, but it sounds so intense. |

It's obviously pretty moving, but it sounds so intense.
It's very very difficult to watch. It's well done for sure, but be prepared to experience the whole gamut of painful emotions I liked the Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, didn't realize the guys from Jackass produced it I couldn't really get into The Parking Lot movie. I didn't really care for the characters, like there was nothing specifically they were facing that I could rally behind them for, apart from just everyday frustrations. Watching The Lottery now |

Watching The Lottery now
My favorite part about the Parking Lot movie is just how some people would try so hard to get out of the few dollars they owed. Plus the constant rebuilding of the arm that comes down to stop you. IDK maybe I have just had a lot of crappy jobs like that so it home. I think for a Doc to be successful in your mind you first have to give a crap about the subject. for example a lot of people love Exit through the Gift Shop, Ithought it was awful and boring. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
SS I really think you will like the Justin B doc, really goes behind the scenes to show how he came to be. Actually pretty incredible story and I actually grew to like him (not his music) after watching it.

And frustrating for the attendants I'm sure. Just thought it didn't flow well enough The Lottery is pretty good, next I'm going to give Louder than a Bomb a shot |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
also if you make a Doc make sure you have lots of these on the cover saying different things about how awesome your movie is.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Facing the Habit is another good one!
Second Skin is good as well (WoW Doc). Crazy how people get sucked into. I suggest watching Second Skin then saying to yourself these have to be the biggest nerds in history then watch Monster Camp and be like O-H M-Y G-O-D there are really people like this. I like to see Life 2.0, I never understand people that play that also. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I'll check those out. Wanted to see My Flesh and Blood, but it's not on instant
Saw God Grew Tired of Us, solid not spectacular Just wrapping up Conan O'Brien Can't Stop. Interesting look at the "real" Conan |
Just finished the two weeks in hell doc that is new to Netflix about military training pretty damn good.

Chronicle was freakin awesome. Had a bit of an Akira vibe to it and the special effects were better than I thought they'd be given the budget by todays standards.

Really? Me and my friend were thinking about going to see it tonight. The trailer looks pretty good. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
i'm greatly anticipating the dark knight rises on july 20th. if anyone had any interest in viewing a clip of the prologue, feel free to pm me. tom hardy's career has really taken off since his role in nolan's inception. he plays bane in this one. this movie concludes the 3 part series with christian bale.

Am I the only one who wishes Nolan would keep putting these out? I hate that it feels like we have a reboot of a comic franchise every few years. He has mastered the genre and I understand wanting to go out on top, but man, he could do at least 2 more and still have them be amazing. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
i see what you're saying but i think he has run himself out of ammunition. i think 3 was the plan for nolan/bale and each movie was paced accordingly.

Awesome flick saw it this afternoon Driver is good too |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
i liked driver as well. some parts really bothered me until i remembered that it was based on a book. one part that really bothered me was after he hit hellboy's car there was no visible damage to his. both of his headlights were still shining. the soundtrack was amazing, and the character reminded me of the character from gta3.
