Philly let Jackson go because he outshined Chip Kelly, and for no other reason.
Boom, I think that's it exactly. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Excellent point -- I completely agree. Let's be honest -- if there were no salary cap ramifications, I don't think anyone would be talking about letting DJax (or Garcon, for that matter) go. They're both playmakers and have proved to be good teammates in DC. DJax has been hampered by Kirk's accuracy issues with the deep ball this season (Kirk should probably have another 5 TDs or so), and as the fly route is DJax's bread and butter, it will obviously affect him more than anyone else.
The Lions can be thrown on (and run on too, for that matter). Let's see what happens this week. To that end, while celebrating yesterday's win is great, no one should look past the Lions. Their offense is humming, and they beat the Eagles, put up a bunch of points on a good Rams D, and nearly beat the Packers in Lambeau (although that isn't looking like the challenge it once was). Now they also lost to the Bears and Titans, and barely beat a pretty weak Colts team, so they're obviously a pretty flawed team. But no one should look past them because any given Sunday (or Monday, or Thursday)....
Oh we are no where near looking past anyone. We can beat the Lions but they can definitely beat us too. We need to be focused every game. |
The Eagles needed D Jax more yesterday than we did. Someone that can stretch the field and open up coverage.
Garcon and Reed benefit a lot from just DJax presence on the field.
Did you guys see how far from the LOS the Eagles deep safety played? He was 30 yards off the line (looking for a screen shot - can't find one). He was never a factor in the run game - may as well have been on Mars. I guarantee you he wasn't playing that deep b/c he feared Pierre Garcon's or Vernon Davis's deep speed. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I think it was Doc Walker who said yesterday that Kirk Cousins is on pace to throw at least 16 Interceptions this year. That sounds high but i looked at pro football reference and last season there were 4 passers who had at least 16 interceptions:
Blake Bortles Peyton Manning Matt Ryan Ben Roethlisberger three of the four QB's i would consider "good", and Blake Bortles the one "bad" QB, led the league with 18 INT's. Not sure if I can really count Manning last season among the "good" QB's, as he was beyond washed up, but he still did enough to win games. I would be happy to see Kirk finish the season between 10 and 12 INT's, but sort of figuring he will throw at least 15, and sort of afraid that he may have above 20.. BUT - i think he still finishes with 25 - 30 TD passes... |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk will have 28 and 12 or along that line. He won't have 16 I don't think

Bortles is bad but Keenum is a baller? [emoji848]

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Bortles needs to work on his delivery, it's so dang slow

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
3 retired quarterbacks on Monday Morning QB think Kirk is the future at QB for the Redskins.
I agree with the experts. |

I agree with the experts.
Who are you gonna trust: three former professional QB's or CASKINS? I'm with CASKINS. Kirk should be judged on a play-by-play basis. When he makes a bad play, bench him and put in Colt. When Colt makes a mistake, bench him and put in Sudfeld. I admit that the plan becomes a little hazy when Sudfeld makes a mistake but, hey, who wants a starting QB who isn't perfect? |

I agree with the experts.
3 reasons y IMO. A. He's pretty good and knows the system now. B. He is still learning, brees wasn't very good until a few years as a starter either.. C. Who else we gonna get?? There are no QBs in this draft that say "wow he's the guy" |

Id like to put Solid Snake between Bayless and Stephen A. Now that's a show Id watch. I would want Solid though to remain steadfest in any of his opinions. Solid much love bro |

They could bring Sonny Jurgensen down from the radio booth and suit him up. He's a Hall of Famer! |
