Redskins blow golden chance The Redskins lost four of their last six games including the last two at home to miss the postseason. They controlled their fate multiple times but kept messing it up.

Yep and kirk played well in most of those games.

I wouldn't. He made more sense with that post than the majority of posts on the 30+ pages of this thread.
I suppose there is an outside chance they use the tag again, but my bet is he gets a contract - a big one.
You know up until today I figured it was a no brainer.
His performance today was atrocious. Even a bunch of his completions were bad throws, but our primo wr corp bailed his butt out.
It is really a tough position for Scot. I mean we should know more than anyone how hard it is to find a decent qb. However you throw that kind of money at him and he continues to make bonehead mistakes in big spots well shit - we can just start a 2025 draft thread now. Lol. That shit would set us back a tad.
It is just so strange that he can be soooooo deadly for most of a season and come up sooooo short in a few key spots. Today - first Dallas game - it doesn't even add up really.

Close but no cigar. One or two plays can win or lose a game. One or two games can be the difference between making it or not making it into the playoffs.

And both (game/playoffs) were lost with Cousins' last interception.
Yes but lets distinguish between being almost in fg range and it is first and ten down by 3 vs you need to air it out to have any chance of winning.
Great ones throw that particular pass away. Hell mediocre ones throw that away.
Truly puzzled by it. Truly troubled as a Skins fan by his performance today.
Yeah, it wasn't a good decision. If he was going to throw it at all, he should have let it go the first time instead of pumping it and then throwing it. That gave DRC time to get there. However, I'm not completely letting Garcon off the hook either. If he goes to the ball rather than waiting for it come to him, and letting DRC cut in front, at the very least he breaks up the interception, and maybe catches it.

Tough way to end the game for sure.

Siding with a Cowboys fan is sacrilegious. I guess that's what happens when we start rooting for the Cowboys for the Redskins' benefit. This is the seventh sign of the apocalypse folks. Get ready! this is the end of days.

Weirdly enough, Cousins strikes me as someone who might try TOO hard when facing adversity (contract). It was like he kind of settled down once our backs weren't against the wall. Not saying that's a great quality in a QB, but I wonder if paying him would settle him down some. He seems like a genuinely likable guy who works his ass off. I just worry he's trying to do too much. I imagine if we had any semblance of a running game he'd be amazing.

That reminds me, is our offensive line good or adequate? I see a lot of rankings that puts them in the top ten in the league. Just is shocking considering how shitty our run game is. Scheme or talent?
This. You cannot minimize that throw. Any halfway decent quarterback is aware of the situation- field position-down and distance- etc. and throws that shit away or takes a sack.
I will say I do not think that his mind was on getting respect or anything. I just think he panics.
I do not want to pay for panic.
What pisses me off is that he had Jordan Reed open on the drag and that is where he looked first.
Bingo. Once you stop and actually think about it, the answer isn't that hard.

Cousins will be back next year folks. Moving on...
I am more thinking of the future. You are right he will probably be back next year. Tag or huge contract though?
If its a tag than we are just buying time. Lets say he throws for 5k again but than throws the season away? Than what?

I still think it's a no brainer. He made his share of mistakes, but he has shown enough.

I think if they can improve the defense and get the running game going, he won't feel like he has to do so much and those bonehead mistakes in big spots will go away.

Yeah this sounds pretty much like me up until today. Lol.
He had a defense today to be fair though. When that int happened the run games ineffectiveness was really not even important anymore. We were five yards from fg range and it was first and ten. Plenty of time. Two timeouts. It takes inexcusable to a whole other level. I cant shake it man. Lol.
Like someone else said, we are probably 4-12 without KC. I have said that myself -recently.
He can be an absolute assassin. He can also be an absolute ass.
Oh well. I guess ill start planning my draft day party. [emoji106][emoji458][emoji41]

I wish you hadnt even told me that. I turned off the tv pretty quickly so I did not notice.
All he had to do was throw the damn ball away or take a sack though. That one is going to stick in the memory banks for a while. Y

Unfortunate, about your mom, but I'll add this.... A loser also goes to another team's fan site to talk trash and troll. That's teenager-like and immature behavior. GTFOH, as a couple of other posters have mentioned.

Actually, I saw a big gap open up, and I said to myself, "Run the ball, Kirk." He would've easily gotten a first down, if he had taken off and ran.

Quite frankly, I started to get a bad vibe about this game once we went down 10-0. Once, we made the comeback to tie it, then I felt "we might have a chance to pull it out." Then, we get the ball back with a chance to seize the game, and go 3 and out. Doubts crept right back into my head.

The G-men, who was basically lying down for us on the offensive end in the 2nd half, decides to chunk a bomb and suddenly in FG range. I kept telling myself, I don't want to go into OT. Get a TD, and win this thing. But, there was something telling me, we would end up having to kick a FG or Cousins would throw a pick. Seriously. Those were my thoughts. Unfortunately, the latter happened, and the rest is history.

By the way, Will Blackmon throwing a bit of "shade," per se'.

Will Blackmon being interviewed on CSN, pretty damning. Insinuated some teammates playing nervous, focused on media, or partying too much.

@BurgundyBlog @JPFinlayCSN: WB def mentioned players enjoying off-field perks. Mason Foster & WB both said guys played too tight/nervous.
