$50 seems really low...and an outlier. Is there any honest numbers out there? Or just ones given to get a response such as this? Simply put, find a new job and know your worth. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
So has anyone heard anything more about Ryan Grant or Bashaud Breeland after their failed physicals? I am hoping one if not both wind up back with the Skins.

Grant signed with Indy and Bree is still recovering and a free agent. Teams waiting to see how he heals...fairly serious infection. |

And the lower tier seems to be not for performing cheerleaders but the backups, supporting. Still I think they should get a bump...not much more Again, simply put, you have choices. That's whats great about this country. I bet a lot of these women really enjoy it and is not doing this to pay the bills. Just a hunch... |

It doesn't look like Redskins is interested in bringing Breeland back, according to this article. 3 questions for the Redskins as offseason workouts get underway | NBC Sports Washington It makes sense; there were some rumbling about issues with Breeland and coaches, his lack of motivation and whatever else. I personally liked him and I hoped we would resign him to a reasonable contract but obviously Redskins doesn't see him as worthy enough to resign. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Guys like Bree and Dez appear to have to settle for vet min, at this point. I thought Grant signed somewhere?

Just a hunch...
I was posting that to semi-agree with you. $50 was the baseline pay for social events, then hourly pay on top. It seems absolutely true that the women that choose to be cheerleaders understand that their beauty and sex appeal is a part of the job. That said, there are still lines and boundaries that need to be enforced to protect their safety, and if anyone in the Skins organization put them in positions beyond those boundaries, then there ought to be discipline handed down. I don't think the NYT story is an unbiased opinion, but it does raise concerns, that should be fact checked. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Women forced into uncomfortable situations when involved with men with power, what a shocker. Anyone questioning the possibility of this story being legitimate is seriously delusional.
Not a stretch to think this could blow up in the NFL’s face, I guarantee behind the scenes they are scrambling to get ahead of it. |

Conveniently, stories are now appearing during the me too movement that will attempt to take advantage of this electric environment. This happens. Exaggeration happens so we can put this in a box and sell it as something else (my money is clearly here). Its a clear fact the NYT has a major bone to pick over a fucking name. There is an agenda with past articles as proof. Lets not dismiss this fact. Im positive the front office is freaking out because of me too movement. I expect a scapegoat. If there was something done inappropriately, by all means the org should take responsibility..... |

I am still very curious to see what happens with Hankins, you have to think he definitely lost us as a potential landing spot. |
Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Interesting article suggesting that we should sign Breeland to a VFA tender before May 8th to get an improved compensatory pick next year.

Plus the Skins were interested in adding another CB, so worst case Bree comes back and competes at a very low salary. Skins should totally do it. |

Its also possible that one side or the other is being less than truthful. I'm definitely more skeptical now than I was when the story was first reported. Bruce said they were doing an investigation. Given the scrutiny this type of story generally produces, I'm hopeful it will be a thorough one and more information will be forthcoming in the future. |
