Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
According to another article, Trent isn’t even ready, medically or in NFL shape to practice yet.
I hear you, but lets not pretend that the medical staff has been stellar. Remember the Guice infections, even AS' infections. A house cleaning would not be the worst thing in the world.
Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Yes, but we're not seeing Alex or Guice going nuclear with the team. Honestly, I'm done with Trent. Team needs to move on from him. I appreciate what he has been for the team, but I just don't see how the team can make him happy, and even if they team can make him happy, that could be detrimental to the team. I'd rather use that money to get Schreff's deal done. I'm not dismissing the medical issue, but I agree with WillH that this is not completely on the organization. Also, I feel that Trent's people are using this to perhaps leverage money. If he's not, then Trent should f*cking up man up and speak about this instead of playing around like he wants more money. I don't want to dismiss the dysfunction in the organization, but at the same time I'm sick of this bad luck shit that keeps happening to us. |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
106.7 The Fan reports that holdout Redskins LT Trent Williams is "telling friends he's prepared to sit out the season."
Reporter Craig Hoffman also confirms that Williams requested a trade in June. Per Hoffman, the Redskins are "confused" by Williams' demands. He has reportedly "not demanded specific changes on the medical staff" and has been "silent in attempts to negotiate a new contract." It seems what Williams wants most of all is to get out of Washington. There has been zero indication the Redskins are considering accommodating him Craig Hoffman, legit source imo |

It's really a shame that it's come to this, especially because it sounds like there was confusion between Williams and the redskins. I didn't think he was going to miss any games but at this point it seems inevitable that he does. In that case if the redskins can get a trade they ought to do it. I don't think so either...but that damn Can of Worms was opened up by Le'von Bell last year. And we have other hold out players (Gordon) threaten the same action. The big problem, if that truly is Trent's strategy, he has 2 more years left on his deal. He aint sitting 2. |
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
So Trent is upset the team docs told him the cyst was no big deal, but according to reports the team also told him to get it checked out just in case. At some point Trent has to own his part of the situation. Why didn't he get a 2nd opinion sooner?
I still think this can be resolved with $$ and he's using this medical scare as leverage. I'm on the side that Sheehan has been talking about. I wouldn't give him a ton of new $$ with an extension. But I'm ok with guaranteeing more of his 2020 money. If that's not going to get the job done I'm fine with dealing him. |

Yup, Sheehan was hitting the nail on the head....do we really want a 45-60 million dollar extension for Trent at his age and health? No. But Kicking him more guarantee money would absolutely be fine. My problem is....SHOULDNT BRUCE AND DAN be at Trent house getting this shit done? I mean, do something, the later it goes... |
Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Bruce would just make the situation worse. Nobody likes the guy except Dan. Bruce would probably do something similar to what he did w/ Cousins and make the situation worse.
If I were the Redskins it'd be real simple. Either you play or sit home. If we get fair market value, like a 1st rounder then we'll trade you. Those are your only options. |
