Re: Ramsey wants to be traded (merged)
just a small test of your faith: did everyone support the coach 110% in keeping Brunell for all of the 9 games last year?
HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY....NO, I WAS LIVID AT HIM ALLOWING BRUNNELL TO STAY IN THE GAME BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I FELT THAT HE WAS TRYING TO GET A SENSE OF CONTINUITY GOING EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARED THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN HIM 9 GAMES TO DO SO, BUT SO BE IT....THAT WAS HIS FIRST SEASON AND HE NOW HAS HAD THE REMAINDER OF 04-05 TO LOOK AT BOTH QUARTERBACKS, 2005-2006 SCRIMMAGE/PRE-SEASON GAMES NOW TO MAKE THAT CALL AND THE BOTTOM LINE IS HE HAS MADE THE CALL TO START BRUNNELL. |

You know what, I didn't like it but I respected the decision. You can't blame all the offensive woes on Brunell for that stretch. We had problems across the board. The offensive line, playcalling, schemes, execution, etc. To say the entire team was sparkling and Brunell was the only thing dragging down the team just isn't accurate. |

Absolutely not. I wanted a change well before game 9; well before our season was essentially shot. It was pure agony watching that pitiful offense with Brunell at the helm last year. I had come to the conclusion that he would never be yanked and was shocked when he finally put Ramsey in. Like a fool, I thought that the move to Ramsey really meant something, like maybe Gibbs was finally seeing what all the rest of us had seen all season long in that Brunell was a bust. Obviously, Gibbs' awakening was short-lived. |

Absolulty not, I didn't even support the trade for the guy! |

thanks for being honest, hope there's no reason people wouldn't be. after this week, i don't think QB continuity is a major concern for coach Gibbs. and people here constantly remind us that it's not his first season, because he has 3 Super Bowl rings etc. etc. i do consider last year his first season BACK in a new NFL, and he'll need time to adjust (as many years as he wants in my opinion). but then what still has me worried is where was his first year lesson learned?? |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded (merged)
as great a coach as he'll always be, last season proved Gibbs is a mortal man ie fallible
so why the wash, rinse, repeat? |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded (merged)
it's always something with those redskins huh?

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded (merged)
Man, this is going to be the most watched Redskins game, perhaps, since our last Superbowl.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded (merged)
Relax, dude. I'm definitely one of those guys who wasn't calling for Brunell before the game, and personally I would've let Ramsey continue as the starter while keeping him on a short leash for the next two or three games. But I also realize that Gibbs deserves our confidence after HOF induction and getting three Super Bowl rings. And Ramsey did turn the ball over three times in 19 minutes! I'm not saying your opinion doesn't count, but the truth is this: 1. you haven't been in all the team meetings, 2. you haven't been in the locker room, and 3. you've never coached the Washington Redskins. It's cool if you wanna disagree with people on this site, but you don't need to bash on Gibbs.
I don't think i have, and none of us have been in those meetings, and none of our opinions will change anything, but going by that there'd be absolutely nothing left to talk about. |

SkinstoWin:
You said: "He has been thrown to the wolves, played hurt, what more can you ask of a guy?" [He = Patrick Ramsey] Here's what more I could have asked from him. Of the games in which you were a starting QB, the team could have won 60% of the time. Bottom line: That didn't happen. ladyfan06/Matty: You have both broken the code. What matters is winning football games and the things that the coaches are doing now are aimed at that goal. That happens to be true of what they did last year and what the previous coaches did too. They are not out there to lose games and they are not out there to advance some other personal agenda at the expense of winning games. On that point, fans and the coaches ought to agree 100% of the time. |

that's assuming the coaches are always right. Benching gates really worked out well in SD, I'm sure there was disagreement over that, and that cost them a competitive advantage and possibly a win. |

If feelings get hurt along the way so be it. |
