Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Dont think we would get a first for Orakpo, that is just my guess but teams value draft picks so highly now.
With Hutchinson now available does anyone think we should take a serious look at him? |
What I said was more of a joke about him being a pussy. However, I don't want a guy who has multiple PF/fines for fighting. One thing is being a bit of a character and being talented, but another is acting on stupidity and getting penalties that affect your team.
Ruhskins, I read somewhere that he calmed down quite a bit last season and avoided fights and stupid penalties. I don't know if that's true because I don't follow the Titans but, if it is and he's matured as a player, then what would you think about signing him? |

Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Trading Orakpo would be stupid. Sure, we have a comparable player with Kerrigan on the other side, but having both of them makes this defense a tough matchup.
As for Mario Williams vs. Rak, I'd rather have Rak...Mario has missed 14 games over the last 2 years due to injury and Orakpo is younger with no injury history and just as much impact. |
If you could get his replacement in FA and then pick up a extra 1st rounder by trading him. Yeah.
If we coul replace orakpo with a free agent, why wouldn't our trade partner just take that free agent instead of trading is anything for orakpo? |

I am sure (and I hope) that the team would do their due diligence and look into this if they were to sign him. I know there are head cases in the NFL, but when you've been flagged/penalized for fighting a few times, I see that as a problem. I know he's a good corner, but maybe there is a reason why the Titans are willing to let him walk. |

Maybe they lack the money a large-market team like us have and can't afford to get into a bidding war over that position. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
As far as I know it's not a WR, but I don't want to jump the gun and say anything. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Salary cap? Rak cheaper? Various of reasons why. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
I REALLY hope the trade doesn't involve Orakpo. Take DeAngelo Hall instead!!!

Or why would we go with an older more expensive FA (such as Mario Williams)? |

Could be Cooley. I HATE the thought of losing him but his salary vs. output has been suppressed since Davis emerged, plus his injuries. May be the time to get optimal value for him. Man, losing him and Landry would be a bittersweet offseason but the team is moving in the right direction. I HIGHLY doubt Orakpo will be traded away. If it's D-Hall, we'll have a huge task at restocking the secondary at CB and safety. I'm not sure we'll empty out the defensive backfield like that after trading away so many high draft picks. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
I would be very surprised if it's Orakpo. I think that ship sailed.
