Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Every position has top 10 picks that flop. They just don't get the same attention.
Not drafting a QB because he might flop isn't the best strategy imo. You can like 1 player, and still take another 1 if you can get him. Drafting Maye doesn't take away from Howell. |

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Draft Maye so we can do this all again next year most likely lead the league in sacks again and torture another young qb.
That just doesn't interest me and further to that I think Sam is going to be really good. Time will tell but thats where I'm seeing him go |

Who’s to say Sam won’t be elite, he sure is showing a lot of good things. |
No need for a QB, 1st pick should be a LT, second pick a RT, 3rd pick a MLB.
I don’t disagree with this at all. I was just pointing out the obvious decision that could be there come draft day. |

I like Howell. But it wouldn't stop me from drafting Maye if he was available. I'd rather too many QBs than not enough. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Sam Howell is the only young QB I can ever remember to be top 10 in every single box score number and top half of the league in every advanced analytics number and still get ZERO national respect at all. If he was a rookie 4th OVR this year people would be praising him

He'll get national respect sooner or later. His lack of respect is because Ron Rivera is his head coach. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Based on stats alone, Howell has easily outplayed:
Mac Jones Tranny Dymes Tannahill Jordan Love Russ Wilson Kenny Pickett Justin Fields Deshuan Watson Jimmy G He has been better than these guys |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Probably doesn't mean much since teammates are supposed to say things like this but Allen has declared that Howell is our franchise QB.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
I think he def is next season, we don't need to be drafting a QB in the 1st RD with so many other needs

Brian Baldinger loves him but I agree you never hear about Howell and that's because he's in WSH. If he played anywhere else you'd hear about him. Nobody cares about WSH Football |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Unless Sam flops big time over the rest of this year's games, I am absolutely rolling with him next year. I'm not sniffing a QB in the first round. Sam has had his bad moments, but considering the position he has been put in most of the year, I'm not sure how you could have a negative opinion about him after 9 total games in the NFL.
Who was the last "can't miss" QB, Trevor Lawrence? So far Sam has played better than Trevor did through his first 9 games. Give Sam an OL, an OC who isn't trying to lead the league in passing attempts per game, and a defense that isn't trying to lead the league in yards per play, and he could really thrive.
Bro, he had Urban Myers I would trade SH in a heart beat for Lawrence |

I would trade SH in a heart beat for Lawrence
LOL, we have Ron Rivera and Eric Bieniemy. Just sayin', so far Sam has looked better and played better through his first 9 games. Can he sustain that? Maybe... But with how he is playing, I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't - and we don't have the luxury to - roll the dice on a 1st round QB with all the other needs. What we need to do is add a couple more picks and use half the draft on the O-line, and the other half on the back 7 of the defense. |
