Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
even though no one was happy with patten's production, just the fact that he was on the field gave us an average of over 85 more pasing yards per game. That's pretty significant.
You are right the fact that Patten was on the feild ment that the D had to account for him. Everyone knows that Patten has the potential to break one for a big gain or a TD. The problem was that when we needed him he was injured, I still think that we would have seen his production go up when teams started to double cover Moss. Either way, Patten or Moss, would have ben in single coverage along with Cooley. |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
I don't concur with SC that the only reason Dockery was starting was because our depth was so bad that there was anyone decent enough to challenge him. He is a starter on just about any team outside of teams with pro bowlers at both guard spots.
That is laughable. Name one team with pro-bowlers at both guard spots? Dockery is the weak link on our offensive line (with Jansen, Thomas, Rabach and Samuels healthy). |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
FRPLG:
BTW, the Skins made it through 2005 with Samuels and Jansen at OT for about every snap of the ball on offense. That was a major factor in the OL's improvement over last year when Jansen was out and Samuels was playing at middling efficiency. Molinaro might have been satisfactory because he worked hard in practice and didn't cost a whole lot in terms of cap room - AND he didn't have to play a lot so that other teams could figure out if he has a huge hole in his game. He may be spectactular or he might be a stumblebum if he has to play 14 games next year. That's why this team needs OL depth - badly.
hahaha, he said stumblebum :laughing2 |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
Yea, Everyone knows we need a wide out,,,,,BUT dont forget the thing that hurt the last few games. FIELD POSTION we need a kicker i mean punts are good but we cant kick oof past the 30. when was the last time, u saw us kick in the endzone.

Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
This poll is truly a landslide.

KC has waters and shields... |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
I think the most help we need is offensive line som we can do more on the run and pass
|
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
:coach: i say wide reciever cause all we got is moss so they will just double team them that means one guy is one on one. We need another speed reciever so they can burn the guy that goes on on one with him

Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
I think moss's brother
sopposbliy pretty good. |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
the reason seattle beat us because hassleback got to stand in the pocket all day and make plays.we need a flat out pass rusher.i dont care if its a linebacker or an end.we need someone who can get to the qb without the skins blitzing.patten is a proven #2 receiver
The reason Seattle beat us was all of the "3 and outs" putting our D right back on the field. A #2 WR will help to open up our offense. A pass rush DE would be great. But is no where near the must a #2 WR is. |

To piggyback on your comment, D8, not only were we three and out, but look at our first four or five possessions - horrible!! |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
I cannot rate the "Biggest" area of need. All of the Poll positions (Sorry about the NASCAR reference!) are of the biggest need!
I have every confidence that the B&G FO will address needful positions first via FA, then possibly via the NFL Draft. Seemingly, HOF Coach Gibbs prefers established veteran help as opposed to Draft picks. In understanding a previous Cousin Vinnie interview over on EX-Skins, there is a tremendous amount of evaluation that goes into whether the B&G target a particular FA gem. There has to be a mix of cost vs. benefit, and of course, the comparison to whether a present Redskin already performs at that level as opposed to the prospective FA. Rabach is the best example I can think of! We were not like the LDS Star-Search team of 4-5 years ago! It wasn't until later in FA last year that we picked up Holdman, Prielieu(sp), and the other FAs! |
Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
I think if we could get more pressure on the opposing teams quarterback we could force more turnovers and give our offense more opportunities to score. I think a defensive end that specialized in pass rushing would be a pretty good score.

Re: The Skins' biggest area of need?
our biggest offseason need is a back up qb who can play if brunnel goes down and campbell can't play
