Re: Just Great!!
If Greg Williams [one of the current great defensive Coaches] has no need or desire for Levar to be on the Redskins team I will take his educated opinion over anyone here at the warpath.
Good luck to Levar but my personal guess he will never be what we saw before. peace Hail Skins |
I hope LaVar doesn't play well against us, although I am sure he will play a little harder when its us. However, I will remember you log on name because I want to see what you say when he comes back at his original playing weight and is flashing that speed that made him one of the most exciting players in the NFL. You seem to forget it takes a good 12 -15 months to fully heal from knee surgery, especially when you have two as close together as he did. he is only 27 years old people. Are you just scared that he is going to be awesome again?
I did say "probably". Perhaps Lavar just needed time to heal as you say. On the other hand, sometimes people NEVER fully recover and that can be psychological as much as anything else. And don't worry--if Lavar plays like L.T. and winds up all over the highlights for his new team, I'll be the first to say I was wrong and to congratulate him. I wish Lavar well. It's not a personal thing to me. It wouldn't have been upset if Lavar stayed either. I just am of the opinion that his skills have diminished. To me, it's a football judgement. I would advise all football fans to drop their allegiance to individual players. Seinfeld calls it rooting for laundry, but no player lasts forever anyways. In the end, it's the team that matters. Years from now when Lavar has either faded into obscurity or gone on to great glory, we will still be pulling for the Skins. |

I agree he didn't fit well here and had to go. I'd prefer to keep Williams over Arrington every day of the week and twice on Sunday. But just because he doesn't fit into Williams' scheme, doesn't mean he isn't a good player. A lot of players excel in some systems and flounder in others (see Jeremiah Trotter). |
Re: Just Great!!
this thread is a moving train wreck.
He was alright, if his knee thing isn't cronic, he'll help someone else. he's just another player, i'm not afraid of seeing him and i don't care where he goes. That decision is completely up to him. |

i completely agree geat comparison for trotter |
Re: Just Great!!
right, but basically in that system all trotter is asked to do is stop the run. i never noticed him being able to cover that well.
