Re: Ramsey update
Bottom line-None of those numbers are definite starting numbers. You may say he is a product of circumstances but we don't live in a vacuum. Nice guy or not we went another way.
Career Numbers: Joey Harrington - Average of 186 yards per start. Two more picks than TD's for his career. 68.1 career QB Rating. David Carr - Average of 180 yards per start. Five more picks than TD's for his career. 73.7 career QB Rating. Patrick Ramsey - Average of 235 yards per start. Five more TD's than picks for his career. 75.0 career QB Rating. And yet, Carr and Harrington have each "earned" 30+ more starts than Ramsey...
|

Gee, I go away for just a little bit and I see some things never change, only the username.
When will folks admit that Gibbs was right in getting rid of Patrick Ramsey? I liked the guy, but it doesn't sound like he's having a great time convincing the coachs in NY either. |

A lot of people are missing that. |

Neither does "being tough." I hear so many people defend Ramsey because he's "so tough." Being nice, hard working and tough are all great things to have as a QB, but it doesn't MAKE you a QB. |

But it does make fans hope that the guy succeeds and I know, for my own part, those are the reasons I liked Ramsey. Add in a cannon arm and you have someone who looks like they have what it takes. Plus, prior to Gibbs it was not like the person evaluating PR had a wealth of credibility when judging QB talent at the pro level. Once Gibbs had him and had a chance to evaluate him, he made the call and I was good with that. As someone else said, it's not like he's burning it up in NYJ right now. Bottom line is that PR had ample opportunity to "seize the day" but failed to do so. But I still like the guy and hope he succeeds. |

It has to do with only ONE thing................performance. he didn't and, and Brunell did. nothing else enters the equation |
I was trying to let this thread die, mainly because I don't feel like debating with a dozen "He's not on the team anymore, so now I hate him" Redskins fans.
To be fair, most of these guys hated Ramsey before left the team. Actually, hated is not the right term, more like thought he wasn't any good. I had thought that the problems he had were correctable, that over time he would develop into a good QB. He always seemed to get off to a slow start then really get the offense moving late in a game (then half the time break your heart with a knuckleheaded INT). For me, the reason I wanted him to take over here was that it never seemed like we were out of games with him in there, the way it did with... some of the other QB's we've had over time. He did move the ball well, just not always in the right direction.:) It seems we all agree he's a good guy, and we all wish him well, and that's probably where we should quit talking about it to avoid acrimony. |

Actually I was always a staunch Ramsey supporter. Still like the guy, but I can admit that he's not cut out to be a #1 QB in the NFL. Brunell is a much better solution than Ramsey, and hopefully Campbell makes both of them look like amatuers. |
Re: Ramsey update
I've never hated Ramsey, he's a very likeable guy.
I just don't think he's cut out to be our starter and I support the decision to let him go. I wish him the best, LaVar too just for the record. In the end though, I just support the team above all. |

RIGHT !!!! Dont forget Gibran Hamdan either ! He was going to be a star ! |
Re: Ramsey update
You can sum up Ramsey's carreer just by looking at his first 2 games...
Game 1 @Tennessee 34 attempts 20 completions, 2 TDs 0 INTs, QB rating 103.6 Game 2 New Orleans 43 attempts 21 completions, 1 TD 4 INTs, QB rating 42.8 Promised so much, delivered so little. People like to make excuses for him but I believe he has nobody to blame but himself. |
Nice. That's in the running to be my August sig. You can sponsor it...
Matty, I didn't think you'd actually post this article but I'm glad you did.
I'd be happy to sponsor it... do I get any free stuff from ESPN? Can I get my picture on a NASCAR car? Do I have to give any money? Will you take an out of state check? |

Even I don't get free stuff from ESPN. So how about a shot of johnnie walker and a pillow? Sponsorship of my signature is major exposure as gajillions of people read this site every day and then rush out and do whatever I say ("Dance BrudLee, Dance!") You're in the running with AMD's "Jeremy Bloom is the next Picabo Street!" Accepting bids until July 30 |

How can anybody say he was not given a fair chance? Our new back up QB Todd Colling has been in the NFL for 12 years and has only started 17 games. |

The longer he stayed here, the more on-again, off-again performances we would have seen. Joe Gibbs was smart enough to see that. Eventually, the rest of the league will too. |
