Re: It's officially Dallas week!
You are probably right, but only because of our injury situation. On offense, Santana Moss, Randel El, and Clinton Portis are all injured. On defense, our starting corners are injured, our middle linebacker is injured, and our starting defensive tackles are injured. On special teams, we lost our kicker to IR.
So, yeah, you'll probably beat our second unit. That's something to be proud of.
At least we can say we beat the Cowboys full strength, TWICE last year. Our backups are like a JV team. If we beat your second team, I wouldn't have much shit talking to say. |
Re: It's officially Dallas week!
What REALLY pisses me off is that we were all like, "Damn, we FINALLY have the WR depth we need!" So if Moss and Randle El don't play, who do we start? Lloyd and Thrash?!
|
Re: It's officially Dallas week!
I'd really be surprised if they don't play.

Re: It's officially Dallas week!
I bet Portis plays, but I AM worried about Moss. As long as Randle El and Lloyd are at WR, I'm fine with that.
|
Re: It's officially Dallas week!
Well, YOU KNOW, Dallas D coaching staff are spending sleepless nights scheming for................HOLY SHIT, there starting Thrash, and Lloyd??????
|
Re: It's officially Dallas week!
If Portis plays, it likely won't matter. We beat them with just Moss and Cooley last year. The offensive line needs to get a fire under it's ass and step up like they did last year.

Re: It's officially Dallas week!
Yeah, last year wer literally RAN them over, and they were in the midst of a playoff push like us. We showed a lot of heart, hopefully we still have some of that left. It was one of the best redskins games in recent memory. We need everyone though, if we are gonna beat em, especially moss.

Re: It's officially Dallas week!
If, as I'm sure, has been already stated, the team cannot get FIRED UP to kick Dallas ass, it's time to turn the page and start building 2007
Why are you placing blame on Brunell on the first place? What's wrong with, "Hey, Brunell has an easy job. He throws a bunch of check downs, and makes the intermediate throw. But at least he's doing his part." I know you miss your boy, Pat Ramsey, but c'mon. Ripping on MB isn't going to bring him back.
And how come Brunell gets all these garbage yards, and no other QB in the league does. Garbage time yards are part of the game. It's part of a concept called "not giving up". All teams do it. Maybe not the Raiders, but you catch my drift.
I'm not placing blame on Brunell first, but as I said, it's the only problem where a change could possibly create a spark for this team. And you're probably the only person with the opinion that a five yard checkdown on 3rd and 8 is Brunell "doing his part". IF Brunell manages to play out the rest of the season, I'd be interested to hear your defense for 2800 yards, 15 TD's and 10 Ints. And uh, tons of quarterbacks get garbage yards. I know that defending old, soft quarterbacks is your specialty and not defenses, but there's this thing called a prevent defense that most teams run when they're up by more than two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. They give a fifteen yard cushion to keep everything in front of them, which is exactly what the Colts did two weekends ago. And if you call it "never giving up", why, when there was 6:00+ minutes left on the clock in the 4th, did Brunell use up four minutes to move down the field against the Colts prevent defense, when Washington needed three scores? That's not called "never giving up". It's called padding your stats, so you don't look so inept, and the score isn't so lopsided. |
