If he plays well as the third receiver, I'll be happy. Right now, I don't think he deserves a roster spot, but we can't afford to cut him anymore.

I'm not sure if anyone found out about this before, but foxsports is saying that Patten was a June 1st cut, so his cap hit is different.

nice find, that makes sense since they waited this long to cut him. So basically it's not official till 6/1?

It has been official. You are allowed to cut players now before June 1st and designate them as a June 1st cut. So now the player doesn't get screwed over when they get cut 3 months before the season. They can find a team earlier now.
