Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King
I seem to remember everybody being pretty confident we would beat Minnesota at home in the Monday Night season opener last year.
I see the same type of confidence with Miami too. After the outright pathetic embarassment of 2006, no opponent should be taken lightly this year. Unless the Redskins start out hot, the burden of proof is on them to tell the skeptics and naysayers how wrong they are. Come on, does anyone really deny that 2006 was the absolute worst season for the Redskins in living memory? I know '93 and '94 were worse in total wins, but in terms of expectations, let's not forget how awful it truly was. I think everyone here was completely sucker-punched as far as how bad our team was.
I think the confidence going into last year's game against Minny was well-founded. We were a playoff winning team the prior season and had, on paper, improved. It turns out our we were wrong, but that doesn't mean our confidence was crazy. Going into this year, we have two big question marks (e.g., will the defense recover and will JC shine). We do, however, have good reason to have some confidence in our team. JC played well at the end of the season and, by all accounts, has looked very good this offseason. The defense was god-awful last year, but I have faith in GW and think the added depth at DB will do wonders for his scheme. Finally, Miami has a boatload of question marks (e.g., a new coach, a "new" but aging QB, etc.). So, I understand your point that we shouldn't take anything for granted, but Miami does not have me trembling in my boots. |
Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King
either mann and manley would be better than daniels. who had 4 sack against some guy they pulled off the street against dallas. about 6 in the other games since them.

Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King
my other biggest fear is how really good are we. take away those 6 games we won in a row in 2005. are record with gibbs is to be nice below average. counting playoffs the record taking away those 6 games is 16-28.

I'm not too high on Daniels either. But like I said, hopefully with a good LB system in place, we can over come it. |
Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King
Marcus Washington being a situational pass rusher will help.

Re: Pre-training camp power rankings from Peter King
i would be thrilled. I would love nothing better than have a winning record after 6 games. To have a chance to go to the playoffs we have to be at least 4-2.
Well, if everyone here thinks positive, we can do it. That's right...we need to be the best fans in the world if our team is going to be the best team in the world. |

I love the guy, but I am unsure as to what he has left in him. We have a couple of old LB's with Washington and Fletcher. Hopefully Rocky can be a shot in the geriatric arm! |

That number makes me sick in the NFL. this isnt Madden people you dont have to get rid of players the second they hit 30. |

Shoot, in Madden I already have a replacement waiting in the wings when they are 27-28. 30 is old. I know he still has some, but he just came off surgery. |

Damn, if Carter hits 10 we need to have a freakin parade for him. When was the last time we had a DE hit 10 or more sacks? |
