that fumble lies more on Campbell then Portis. its his responsibility to make sure the hand-off hits portis in the chest
There is some responsibility on Campbell, but the majority is on Portis. The ball hit his arm. This is RB 101, you always have your arms opened where you receive the ball. This is practiced everyday and is inexcusable for a $ 5M + per year RB. |
Re: Clinton Portis
i think they should had let mike (sellers) run it in! he would got it in! but we shouldnt have let the giants get back in the game!

Re: Clinton Portis
Maybe before people pass blame you may want to watch the last play again and if you notice the left side of the line Yodder missed the snape count. I have only seen one person on TV up in DC point this out. They showed the play from the line of scrimge and he was pretty late getting on his block.

Once again confusion with time running out. I though Gibbs would have had this ironed out by now. |

That was only one player missing the snape count so I'm not sure that can be blamed on Gibbs because everyone else knew the snape count. The problem was that was the side we were running the play. The big mistake was not running JC up the middle on the first down as Giants did not have their goal line package in and that play was wide open. |
Re: Clinton Portis
I wouldn't call what happened at the end of the game confusion. If anything I chalk it up to having a young, inexperienced QB in the game. A vet wouldn't have rushed things on the last play. But that's life with a young QB. At least he was able to get us in position to win.

Re: Clinton Portis
one of the miscues was due to santana looking injured and JC was checking on him...
with the spike (#2), yes i would have preferred a QB sneak, but i can understand wanting to give JC time to get the right personnel in the game...esp given his experience and what had been going on up until that point.... |

By spiking the ball we also gave them a chance to get their run D on the field. |
