Great news, but did you see this part?
Gumbel, meanwhile, will rest up for the network's Saturday night game between the Bengals and 49ers. He will work the game with Deion Sanders and Marshall Faulk as Collinsworth prepares for his Sunday job on NBC's Football Night in America.
I have three words for that.

Worst.

Booth.

Ever.

At least we get the "A+" team for the next two weeks games. Al Michaels and John Madden. That's Great!

Madden is a Has Been.... I think he is approaching senility... Heck maybe he is already there.... 1 thing is for sure... Madden won't have anything good to say about the Redskins...I do like Michaels....
Seriously. I miss Phyllis George and Jayne Kennedy!

I'm worried about Gumbel's health. He sounds like he was having mini-strokes throughout the broadcast.
Wow. A Phyllis and Jayne reference. I wonder what the breakdown is on the Warpath between those who get the reference and those who don't.

This was a pleasure to find on Youtube. You know what I used as the search phrase? Irv Cross.

lol awww. Madden's gotta have a few marbles still rollin around in the old noggin. I haven't heard his commentary in a longggg time. So it will be interesting to see what he has to say. It cant' be any worse than Gumbel rambling on about nothing and mixing up players.

Deion, Faulk and Gumbel?

I would rather listen to Dexter Manley, Bo Jackson and Terrell Owens in the booth...

you wonder why the NFL Network won't let any cable companies get the channel so more viewers can watch it. They would just be embarrassed that they have such a bad booth. I don't like gumbel too much, but collinsworth isn't all that great either. He's been a wise ass to everyone he works with. in his mind he's always right and i've seen him be smart with some greats like jerome and bob costas. who did collinsworth even play for??

Gumbel called Tony Romo, Rick Romo at the end of Packers-Cowboys game.
