That has been a huge recurring story for this team before blowing teams away during the 4 game run. How many times did the Skins fail to extend leads and eventually lose? I've been saying all year that we need a bigger WR for red zone passing packages. Perhaps Mix will be that guy someday.
I am hoping that too...every time I see him I keep saying he needs to be given a chance. I said it again after he picked up the ball and took it into the endzone today. I think we have a diamond in the rough right now.

Yeah, picking a money-kicker is near impossible.

Back to the point, though - the missed FG may have been the final straw, but it's not even remotely correct to blame the final straw for everything that happened before it. Even ignoring the first 2.5 quarters, we could have done a lot more with that drive, but we didn't. There is plenty of blame to go around. Of course, Gibbs will squash that talk.

Refresh my memory guys, isnt this the drive that Big Mike Sellers didnt know where to line up, and forced Todd to call a time out and bitch him out for screwing up? If indeed this is the same drive, ah hell even if it isnt, Sellers screwing up was the momentum killer, 100%. I was saying it from that point on. They were on a roll, and it changed everything. The kicker and punter need competion this year for sure, but our o-line was beaten today for most of the game, I thought Moss quit also on the INT., but post game explanation makes sense and I believe he didnt ever see the ball or know it was even thrown. Anyhow, it was a hell of a ride, ready training camp NOW!

I don't think it was the same drive but that did suck.

1- it's the playoffs, you never quit.
2- you're paid millions to do 1 thing, catch the damn ball.
3- the whistle never blew, therefore you never stop.
4- you didn't see the ball, so how do you know it WASN'T heading in your direction?
5- you never f-ing quit.

Pick your number and it applies...to me there is absolutely no excuse for quitting on that play. I blame Moss over Suisham. AT least suisham "tried".

There is no question in my mind that Suisham's missed field goal was the turning point in this game.

Like I said, momentum wise, yes, it definitely deflated us, but we lost by 21 and that was only a missed FG.

I agree in a way, but I think if that kick was made the Seahawks would've never scored those final 21 points.

The final 14, definitely, IMO. However, there's no reason to think they wouldn't have scored a TD after the kickoff.

This really is pointless, though. There are so many reasons we lost, looking for a singular point of blame is kind of redikulos.

Maybe so...but I think we failed when we did not get it in the endzone in the first place. Either way you look at it, it was a positive thing for the Seattle D to stop us.
Wii win?

Anyhow, horrible miss by Suisham but I still maintain we should have scored a TD on that drive anyway.
Yeah, I feel like that would've been a pretty huge momentum swing... 3 tds in 3 minutes.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer

I was glad when he missed that kick, I thought that was a real break from the Seahawks perspective. How kooky was that when the preceeding Redskins kickoff got held up in the wind like that?

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer

I was hoping for 6 not 3 from the 14 yard line especially after they blotched the kick off. But yes 3 would have beat a blank. Also, being we had just scored all of our points in 2 minutes and we had all the MO that could have very well been enough to put them in panic mode?

That was a big swing in MO, IMO. Coming out with notta from their 14 and they turn around and drive the field for a TD and the 2 point conversion, that was a HUGE shift!

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer

That drive should have end up with 7 points and not a missed FG. Our inability to protect TC and get a ground game better than a HS team's going cost us those points IMO.

I agree, I would like to do a Suisham impression right to his f-ing gut for missing that FG but, you cant just put it all on him.

We just need to bring in a little competition for his ass this Offseason to light a fire under him or find a better place kicker.

Oh yeah, and Mix needs to see the field at WR a little more. Maybe the coaches know something we don't about him and he just doesn't perform as well as others at that position but, maybe they've never given him a shot. I would liker to see what he can do. He's built almost identical to Calvin Jonhson from Detroit so, he couldn't be all that bad, right? The kids a special teams demon. Everytime he's in there you see him laying the wood on cats or doing what he did today but I digress....

Suisham missing that was unacceptable and it most certainly turned the momentum their way.

However, the real momentum killer on that drive was Cooley droping the 1st down pass.
