If I was Gregg Williams I would have withdrawn my name from consideration when they tried to pull the trigger on that new coaching staff but were unsuccessful because the ravens blocked the lateral move of Ryan.
I applaud Gregg removing his name from consideration. He at least is professional enough to know when to move on and save face from a bad situation.
He was fired either way. |
My point is that Snyder preached continuity, but his actions don't line up with his words. If he comes back and says that we're trying to build on the foundation that Gibbs built, then yes, I'm saying that is spin.
I'm not a pure Snyder basher - look at my previous posts during the Gibbs tenure. I was one of the few defending Snyder for deferring to Gibbs on all personnel matters. I was also one of the few that blamed Gibbs for Archuleta, Lloyd, and Duckett, when many others wanted to pin those failures on Snyder and Ceratto. What angers me, as Boswell put it so well, is that Snyder is razing the house down to the foundation for the FOURTH time this decade. If Jason Campbell ever becomes a great QB, it will have been in spite of all the organizational chaos, not because of it.
Well at least you have now made your excuse for JC. |
What's good about the article exactly? I still can't believe no one is making Glauber eat crow for what he said at the beginning of the season when he said the Redskins wouldn't win more than 3 or 4 games and were a lock to get the 1st pick in the 2008 draft
I like how people here bash the media who write stuff that they don't agree with then use them to help make a point that they agree with. |
Re: Does anyone feel as if the Redskins Organization is dismantling Joe Gibb's work?
If Gibbs' work was truly being dismantled, why not just blow up the entire coaching staff? Why are so many guys coming back?

What other way should that work exactly? |

Lot's of coaches most likely won't be back, b/c the new head coach is going to bring in his own guys. Or...should be able to bring in his own guys. |

Have you missed most of what happened this weekend? Everyone involved reported that the entire staff, with some exceptions (Bob Saunders, Bill Lazor, likely Jerry Gray and Steve Jackson) will be back in '08. Sure there will be some turnover, but really not much more than would normally occur anyways. |

Umm the staff is pretty much already set at the major spots in case you missed it. |
Re: Does anyone feel as if the Redskins Organization is dismantling Joe Gibb's work?
DAN SNYDER IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS!!!
I wish someone would sit him down and explain the ins and outs of the game to this man; then they can explain HOW PEOPLE WORK AS WELL! He has no idea what his players need after a year like this; what real continuity is on a football team.... WAIT, HE JUST SAID THAT FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL OF US POOR, STUPID SCHMUCKS, (OR WAS IT FOR JOE GIBBS?), THINKING HE COULD FOOL US INTO BELIEVING THAT HIS DISASTEROUS CHANGES REALLY AREN'T THAT BAD. SORRY, DAN. NOT BUYING IT. I also understand that he made the comment that firing Williams and Saunders, but making the other changes he's made, as well as hiring a new head coach and whatever other changes he'll make, shouldn't change things too much and will keep things pretty much as they were under Gibbs: NO REAL CHANGES SO THINGS CAN STAY ON A CONTINUOUS, EVEN KEEL WITH LITTLE OR NO DISRUPTION! DOES THIS MAN EVEN HAVE A CLUE??? All of us, as Redskins fans, should write a petition, sign it online, and send it to Dan Snyder, with the express desire that he sell this team immediately before he does any more irreparable damage!!! As it stands now, he seems to be setting us back on the course that Joe Gibbs came back out of retirement to rescue us from. What is so heartbreaking now is that he succeeded, so we all have to fall even farther into the pit. |

This is the way I'm looking at it. How can we continue anything with Gibbs gone? Most of the coaching staff was brough in after Gibbs came back. Thererfore, we are doing nothing but continuing Joe Gibss, and his needs as a coach. Maybe Snyder is looking at it like a new coach deserves what he needs to be successful. From there, we can start (again) fresh. I'm just saying.... |
Re: Does anyone feel as if the Redskins Organization is dismantling Joe Gibb's work?
[/Ernest Byner's also talking to Jacksonville now as a coach instead of coming back as a running back coach with us, even though he's been told he has a job here if he wants it (I don't know that I'd believe Snyder, either). Ernest Byner? The man bleeds burgundy and gold!!! Just talk to him!!
It's like rats deserting a sinking ship. WHO'LL BE NEXT??? I] |

Lazor is not going to be back from the reports I've read, never heard of bob saunders. How do we know that....as we don't have a head coach. That's my sarcastic point...what if Mariucci comes in and wants his guys? Would Dan then say, we'll no thanks we already have ours. The most important 2 asst. coaches aren't back. Are all offensive coaches retained? I believe that's up in the air. |
