Re: giants trying to trade 31st pick for cb hall
thanks but no thanks...hes on sportscenter every other week...getting burned deep
this is true but his help back there is......(crickets)........anyone? we have at least two proven DBs that can help him, and Hall is good enough to where he does not have to be developed all that much. I am in no way fond of using our first rounder on him, but if we could find a way not to, him, and the addition of Florence would allow us to get a sleeper CB later in the draft and not have to suffer through his development. |
Re: giants trying to trade 31st pick for cb hall
he is younger, faster, and at this point in time better than Springs. According to NFL network he has 2 years left on his contract. It is already known that springs doesn't take pay cuts, we pay intirely too much for him. So I'd trade Springs and a 4rth conditional 5th for Hall. In all I'd say its a better deal because they get 2 possible 3 players and one of those guys is proven in this league.

Re: giants trying to trade 31st pick for cb hall
for the talent, the 21 pick is a great deal for us, but the bad rep has been justly earned and it's hard to judge it's effects on the team. he's better than any CBs in the draft, but i'm still wary of his personality issues, which makes it a tough call.
if we give him a contract where we can void or trade him without a huge penalty, it'd make it easier, but you'd still lose out if you had to use it (lower trade value, less interest, wasted pick, etc). if we could get him and trade springs, that might make it a little more bearable... when in doubt, pass though. no move is better than a bad move.
What do you think would have been the better move? The Falcons trading DeAngelo Hall for the #31 pick, or the Redskins trading the #6 overall for Lance Briggs and the #31? |

well, it would've been the #6 and mcintosh for the #31 and briggs, so it's easy to go with hall on that one. they can get rid of a bad locker room guy and end up with the #31, which is high enough to draft his (very very cheap, but not as talented) replacement. on briggs, not only are you giving up insane trade value and money, but you've got guys like vilma that could be cheaper and less costly to trade for. I really don't think we need briggs as much as other positions either. |

A true measuring stick to when a team is truly great is when everybody in the stadium knows exactly what they are going to do but their opponents are powerless to stop it. I'll take predictability along with execution any day. |

Re: giants trying to trade 31st pick for cb hall
Yeah I would be inclined to agree about the whole trouble aspect of D. Hall. I think that the Redskins are going to have enough to contend with next year in regards to chemistry and they really don't need someone who was a malcontent. I do realize that Bobby Petrino was an idiot and has no class, but Hall was making comments in the media when he should have been keeping his mouth shut.

i know, but without him, there wasn't a deal. |
Re: giants trying to trade 31st pick for cb hall
I think the price tag all the way around is too much for this guy. His contract is too large for us and we would ahve to give up more than i feel we need to to obtain him.

the giants say no to trade now
