Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I'm kind of annoyed that the NFL gave us 3 road division games in the first 5 weeks - we could easily have a sizable hole to climb out of.
But we get to play our toughest road games early before we're worn out and dinged up. I actually like this. |
Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
what do you mean when you say its not what 'we request or were hoping for'? Do you really give input into the schedules.
I would have watned the steelers as our monday night game personally. my best friend is a steelers fan...all those years of playing madden against each other. what were you hoping for?
Yeah we put together our preferred MNF games for the season (factoring in such things as contractual obligations, set opponents for the year, input from our analysts on how teams project for the season), and then we share that with the NFL (all the tv partners do the same). The NFL looks over all of it and then we engage in several weeks of discussion. I don't directly work on our NFL property so I'm more of in a "consultant" role on this. |
Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
My husband is psyched about the Steelers game being on MNF. Me, not so much. We'll have to extend our trip now. Bummer.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
3 NFC East opponents on th road in the first 5--I agree that's pretty tough, especially for a new coach. But every season has its tough bits. I'm more annoyed about playing in the first pre-season game AND the first regular season game. Cuts our prep time short, and for a new coach yet.
Is it time for camp yet???? ;) God, I hate the offseason. |

My order would be: Steelers Cowboys Ravens Seahawks Giants Eagles Bengals Browns Rams Saints Cards 49ers |
wait a minute, where's our annual trip to Tampa Bay?
You beat me to the punch!! |
Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I'll be going to
@ NY Steelers @Baltimore for sure. I would like to go to the @eagles game and the cowboys game. But that probably won't happen. |
Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
Heres the biggest thing that stands out to me....we play Dallas after our BYE week which also happens to be THEIR BYE week as well. I really dont like this at all, as half the advantage of having the bye week is having two weeks to prepare for your opponent as an advantage. I mean Dallas fans should have the same gripe, I suppose. Not a huge deal, but that stands out to me as something I didnt like. The 3 out of the first 5 are a bear too. I think when you break our schedule up into quarters, our "1st" and "3rd" are really tough. If we can get to the last part at 6-6, I could see it being another year where we win a bunch at the end of the year and sneak in if we can get to a record of somehting like 6-6. I think its a tough layout, but as always we'll never really know whos good/bad.

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
If,and this is a big if,we play to our potential,I see us starting out at 2-3,but we could win the remaining games to go 13-3

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I am not promoting anything, but my wife markets package deals for all DC teams. Closer to the season hit me up. or if you like Baseball you can hit me up now. In all honesty these things are quantity over quality.

Re: NFL to release full schedules at 2pm today, 4.15.08
11/3 vs PIT
BYE 11/16 vs DAL 11/23 @ SEA 11/30 vs NYG 12/7 @ BAL 12/14 @ CIN 12/21 vs PHI This is pretty damn tough stretch right here. I wouldn't dismiss the away games at Baltimore and Cincy either. Let's hope Zorn has better luck than Gibbs at Qwest Field. Spurrier even won there for crying out loud. |

Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule
I don't know if I should be thrilled or scared that the Redskins come out to the west coast in week 17. At worst, either they've locked something up or are shut out, and the game could be meaningless. On the other hand, it could be a euphoric, playoff-clinching victory that I witness first hand.
I think you can imagine which one I'd like to see. |
