I'll say this, how in the hell can Pacman get re-instated with a "Zero Tolerance" policy even in baseball your out after 3 strikes. Plaxico should be equally banned for a year and have to apply later on.
If players are not allowed to lay on the ground after a TD or do any of this unsportansman like or distraction to the game stuff and certainly on a dedication ring of honor weekend game a player shoots himself involved in gun play still be allowed to Don a jersey and wear the NFL logo being an ambassador to the world for Goodell's $ billion product than what gives. EA SPORTS says if its in the game.....Role models and representatives of the NFL toting guns like scarface shooting himself in the leg. Than what other felonies can these above the law players and politicians get away with before someone says maybe along with musicians/movies/video games but athletes are corrupting our youth today. Will the NFL have disclaimers before games. Ban Burress and let him make supplemental income as a poster boy for smith and wessun or guns and ammo. If the NFL dares to honor STaylor and lets Burress off with anything less is a slap in the face or dismissal of seans life.
LOL,ban him.............and that work so well with everyone else? Pacman has been arrested 6 times while in the NFL ,this is Burrass first(and he hasn't been arrested ...yet) ,also he was not in a fight or throwing anything at women,he did not shoot a bouncer and blame it on his possy. He'll never play for the Giants again...so relaxe now you have Steve Smith and Hixon and Toomer to worry about. P.S Only a fool would try to connect the Death of Sean Taylor and what this idiot did up in NY,just stop. |

Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
Not only is Plaxico facing a 3.5yr minimum sentence, Pierce may be charged as well.... This is just so amazingly stupid.
PLAX, PIERCE FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES Posted by Mike Florio on November 30, 2008, 7:23 a.m. As previously expected, Giants receiver Plaxico Burress is in big trouble. Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Burress likely will be arrested on felony weapons charges in the coming days after shooting himself in the leg at a Manhattan club with a weapon that he wasn’t properly licensed to carry. As not previously expected, Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce could face charges of his own for allegedly taking the gun and stashing it in New Jersey after the incident. (This would have been a great Playmakers episode if the show wasn’t so unrealistic in its depiction of the lifestyles of pro football players.) Per Vacchiano, police became aware of the incident only after Giants employees “reached out quietly” to report it. A representative of the team was planning to retrieve the gun and surrender it to police. Translation: The New York Giants will do nothing at all to shield Burress from the consequences of his conduct. In fact, the New York Giants seem to be more than willing to help the authorities take Burress off their hands. As to Pierce, his attorney told police he’d cooperate in the investigation in exchange for a promise that he won’t be charged. But why would police need Pierce’s voluntary cooperation? Burress has a .40 caliber hole in his leg that wasn’t caused by a stapler, and his employer is actively assisting the investigation. Pierce has no leverage here, and his best bet is to cooperate fully and then hope for lenience. For Plaxico, the law seemingly prevents much lenience. As we explained on Saturday night, illegal possession of a firearm in New York City results in a mandatory 3.5 year prison sentence, without exception. And as to anyone who thinks that the Poindexter effect might prompt police to look the other way, New York City ain’t Surry County, Virginia. As one police source told Vacchiano regarding Burress, “He went for his gun and fumbled it. And now it will cost him.” |

I agree that Pierce should probably be suspended, but only if charges are filed. But from initial reports it sounds like he tried to hide the gun in question. Maybe one of our legal experts (SGG?) could weigh in. I don't know what the exact charge would be, but tampering with and/or concealing evidence involved in a felony gun case doesn't sound fun to me. |

I worry not about any smith, hixon, toomer 3. Your calling me a fool in a free society while I exchange my thoughts and ideas with my Redskin community, Never am I or could I be defined by any other than myself 4. Only a jackass would poke and prod on Taylors anniversary game a redskin fan on a redskin site voicing his concern and emotional anguish from a gun related incident that took the life of his favorite player. You have no current players with on your team to speak of so sit back STF, you ignorant F'N jackass. How dare you. PS PAcman wasnt Banned. Go to Dallas and see. You should know better. Youve been on this site for years. |
Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
Holy crap! Did anyone hear Glazer say that if he is convicted of having an illegal gun he could face a minimum three year sentence?
|
Re: Plaxico Shot in Club
hagams....I agree with you. To say guns kill people is to say the cars drunk drivers are using kill people. Maybe we should ban cars. That way law abiding drivers can get screwed also. Sorry I could go off on a huge tangent but won't. Just because the law says everyone has a right to own a gun does not mean everyone should. You can't handle a gun safely then you should not be one to own or carry a gun around.
I disagree here. Hand guns have one purpose. To kill people. You don't buy a hand gun for transportation, you don't ride your hand gun around. Granted, stupid people in both circumstances cause more fatalities, but hand guns have no other purpose. Yeah. Plax is in big trouble. I hear 1 year minimum sentence, but 3 is even worse. Wow. |

Look at my earlier post... It's actually a new law in New York- if you possess an illegal firearm in the city, it's a 3.5 year minimum sentence, no exceptions. And he is expected to be charged this week. |
