Re: Mock Database Update (1/30)
We'd need to pick up another couple Day One picks if we start wishing for that.
That is what makes me so depressed about this offseason. So many prospects and so little selections. Makes me sick to think that some of these guys could have been quality young Redskins but are going to be playing for other teams.
Definitely wish we had our second round pick bro but beyond that i'm not real psyched about the depth of this draft. Basically if we can select a franchise player, preferably an OT or OLB, @ 13 i'll be satisfied. |
Re: Mock Database Update (1/30)
If we get Smith and have him play either OT or G I would be so happy! It would be the first time ever Vinny would make a good move drafting at such a position. If we can't get one of these tackles, I think we need Maliluga, once in a decade type player and will be way better then Okarapo or whoever he is! But SmootSmack I hope you are correct!

I'd hate to see what our o-line looks like if we pick a LB with the 13th. Reinhardt was a 3rd round pick and he's having a hard time dressing for games. If we have that same success next year's team won't be pretty. |

If we keep going for the bling instead of addressing our o-line we can pretty much be assured of mediocrity for the next few years. |

I think we need to stay @ 13 and grab the best o tackle prospect available but that's just me. I saw a draft board w/ us getting Monroe, which seems too good to be true, but basically i'm good w/ anyone but Oher. Like 53 said Curry would be very hard to pass on cause w/ Marcus gone we'll really need help there but seems like we'd first have to get a great RT in FA. |
Re: Mock Database Update (1/30)
What's wrong with Oher at 13?

Too many red flags (like effort during run blocking and ability to pick up a blitz scheme) in college no less. If we stay at 13, and Monroe and Smith are gone, take Maualuga and build a defense around that guy!! |

We need to build a offense. You know, the weakest part of the team for the last 10 years. |
Re: Mock Database Update (1/30)
Too the people who would like us to draft defense: Have you guys given up on JC? How can you expect him to improve if you don't get better in the trenches.

Well, I think first and foremost is probably improving the entire team and that includes the d-line. That's not to say we don't need help on the OL, we do of course. Side note, I'm increasingly skeptical that Campbell is in their long range plans anyway. But that's another topic for another day. |

THAT MAKES ABSOLUTLEY NO SENSE! First off, Malauga is a MLB we have Flecther for at least 2 (given he's healthy). Second Maualuga would not fill a need given that he is an OLB, and last time I checked our focuse was on OT, or OLB NOT MLB. You draft for need then talent, and if we can't draft an OT or an OLB (Curry) you trade down and get more picks. You don't build a defense around a MLB, you build on the D Line first. |

Smith could fall all the way to 13 and now that the FO is looking to switch QBs. I don't mean i don't believe you cause i do but a little warning or maybe a separate thread would be nice :) |

After all we originally drafted Blades as a MLB and whenever we need a guy to fill in, especially on the strong-side, he's our man. ... i'm not absolutely advocating Malauaga but saying if he's the very best talent left @ 13 (say all 4 1st round o tackles are gone or it comes down to Oher vs Malauaga vs Cushing) then we'd be wise to take him and let him play. |
