Just heard on ComCast the Redskins could also be interested in Renaldo Wynn. Presumably if we don't sign Evans.
I hope this isn't true. Renaldo Wynn is washed up and I'm surprised he hasn't retired. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Why would he ever want to be in SF? The offers can't be that different can they? Maybe he feels spited we didn't reach out earlier?

Plus if he gets the same amount in San Francisco he will make even less. I mean lets look at the facts. For one the housing markets on the rocks so selling his current home is going to be difficult. On top of that the taxes in California are backbreaking plus the values of homes are about 3 to 4 times more then they are in other parts of the country. For example a house in Ashburn might cost Evans $500,000. In California, especially San Francisco, that same home will cost him about $1.5 million. Basically if the offers are similar he would do best to stay put. I remember seeing Pamela Anderson with a house at Long Beach on MTV cribs. House was bascially a one story estate that would usually cost barely $100,000. Still given it was on the beach in California I would imagine that it cost her about $1 million. |
Give me Tyson Jackson over Johnson
I don't want either but if i had to choose id take Jackson cause he can stop the run and is a younger philip daniels, but he's a slow pass rusher...johnsons gonna be a bust IMO |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Tyson Jackson seems to be a better fit for the type of LDE we are looking to pick up. It wouldn't surprise me to see him slide into the second. If we see a scenario play out where Sanchez is available at 13, and the Jets want our spot to nab him, we could slide down t their spot in the 1st and pick up their 2nd as well. That could nab us a good RT and Tyson Jackson.
Not bad. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Never heard of that. But here in Syracuse NY it snows almost every day. But if it will bring Evans back I'll give it a go. :)
Yeah, I'll even take more snow in Saratoga NY if we can get Evans back. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
im in favor of johnson over jackson. Johnson is more of an athlete, and with big albert in the middle i really think johnson could get to the quarterback better with his pass rushing skills. Or if we stay at 13 im hoping for orakpo, simply because he is a monster and can play either de or lb.

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Who would you rather have at left defensive end and who would you rather have backing them up? Remember Orakpo means no tackle in the draft and Olshansky limits what we can do through FA.
Starter: Brian Orakpo, Igor Olshansky, Demetric Evans Backup: Rob Jackson, Renaldo Wynn, Phillip Daniels I would be happiest with Evans and Daniels, but if we can't get Evans then I would want Orakpo. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Is Orakpo a LE or RE?
Would we be stuck again with two high paid RE's? |

Not bad.
I would love this scenario where we could take Oher and Jackson but: Sanchez will be there without a doubt at 13, but im not so sure there will be a line for teams to trade up to select him. With the Chiefs and Vikings addressing there QB need through FA, it leaves less teams looking early for signal callers. I still think our best hope is that Detroit takes Monroe #1 and then tries to trade up to select Sanchez then. Sort of what Cleveland did to select take Quinn. That would leave us with the 20th and 33rd picks. |

IMO it's a big risk to trade back from 13 in this talent-thin draft... but i'm really don't follow college ball much so what do I know. Just going off the "experts" out there like Kiper who for instance doesn't think much of this year's LB crop after Curry, Rey and possibly the other two USC studs Cushing and Matthews. |
Puh-leeze. Look at this collection of good plays, I mean highlight film. Interesting tidbit though, the announcer at one point says that in terms of frame Johnson reminds him of Calias Campbell so if that holds up Johnson definately has the frame to play LE in the NFL. You'll see that he lines up at LE in about 50% of the snaps in this video.
Jackson is the Black Justin Smith (who everyone here knows is Radioactive Man to my Bart Simpson). |

Eben Britton from Arizona should be there at 20. |

Yeah I think you're right. I've heard/read this kid works his tail off. Also think i heard he's got the shortest arms some analysts have seen on a guy his size. |

Also at around 20 we could take Duke Robinson(OKLA), William Beatty(Uconn), Unger(Oregon) or Alex Mack(Cal). |
