Re: Notes from Zorn's Press Conference (Sept. 28)
And then we flip over to december presser for Dallas:
-Well yes we try hard to win in December but we just make little mistakes. -Yes I no Romo cannot win in Dec or January but he looks great for the other 12 games when he is not throwing int's. -Yes I understand that I will probably not be the coach after we lose our last game and we miss the playoffs once again.
Thats cool with me. Would rather have that legacy attached to a season than the legacy that is now forever written on the Redskins 2009 season. |
Well there was a reason to ask it this week
Yes of course. That was the reason of the first post..... Like are you riding a plane back to DC....OR walking to the other Washington. ;) |
I definitely agree
Pretty stark contrast to the last guy huh? Gibbs asked for the blame to go to him in pretty much every situation, which the fans and media were happy to oblige him. A lot of us were pretty critical of his tactics but I'm appreciating a lot of the little things JG did more and more everyday. |

People used to get on Gibbs for taking all the blame. Now Zorn is guilty of not taking enough. Insane I tell ya. |
Re: Notes from Zorn's Press Conference (Sept. 28)
Well the Niners have come around under Singletary and are talking about how he's helping them so much when last year they were like who is this asshole making us run hills, etc.
Running hills and hard practices are very different from clipboard throwing. |

Maybe Zorn should drop his pants. |
Re: Notes from Zorn's Press Conference (Sept. 28)
Here is an interesting article reflecting the theme of Zorn's presser in contrast to the statements of the players. It's not breaking new ground, but I thought it was a very well written piece of analysis:
Redskins players, Zorn see big picture differently • Sports (www.HometownAnnapolis.com - The Capital) |
Re: Notes from Zorn's Press Conference (Sept. 28)
You know, for once i would love to see Jim Zorn stop talking about these great players, great captains, professionals, blah blah, blah, and instead, get pissed, throw his damn clip board, and show some kind of emotion.
Dude, Zorn threw a sideline fit in the Rams game. He got pissy on the sidelines in the Giants game. He exploded on the sidelines in last year's Detroit game. And these were just the outbursts that I and the cameras happened to catch. If he's doing that in public, imagine what goes on behind closed doors. I really don't think that he holds back negative emotions. He just tries to be nice in the presence of media. If he is in danger of losing the locker room, to get really angry at players in front of the press would be the final nail in that coffin. |
Re: Notes from Zorn's Press Conference (Sept. 28)
I begged to differ. I remember hearing former Redskins players under Gibbs I say that he [JG] would kick or throw chairs in the locker room during halftime if the 'skins were not playing well. Seemed to work just fine.
Of course in the 80s it was a totally different league, climate and game. The "changes" to the NFL have been, for the most part, negative. Quarterback rules, pass interference, inconsistent referees..just seems to be a lot less fun. Players had a different attitude back then too. |
