Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
I am with your 100%..I have said for a long time that no matter what coach is brought here, and what supposed talent is brought in, as long as Danny and "YES MAN" Vinny are running things, this team WILL NEVER be a winning franchise. There is a great article by Sally Jenkins in the post about management and man its great. I dont usually go along with her, but she backed it up with some facts and character issues that Snyder apparently has. I hate hearing its Jason Campbells fault, its Jim Zorns fault, Its Spurriers fault, blah blah blah....Can no one see there is one reason and one reason only this franchise has never won a damn thing since 1999!! DAN SNYDER...he creates this horrible attitude at Redskin Park, the organization and players just come here to get paid. He underminds his coaching staff, treats players like children if they lose a game and is just a basic billionare bully.
We will never be successful unless he steps aside, gives total control of players, draft, coaching, scouting to REAL FOOTBALL people. I would bring Casserly back, He did a pretty good job in Houston before getting run out of town for not picking Bush....hmmm how does that look now? Or I would pay what ever to get Ozzie Newsome, or Bill Polian, Allen, or someone with some credibility.
If that's what Sally says, I'm glad I didn't read it. She hilites the obvious anyway! |
I think Zorn=Turner
I know Vinny+Danny=Never Win a Championship |
Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
Well I mean I'm not in the locker room or really talking to the current players so I don't know for sure but I suspect that Zorn is trying and he cares...but he's overwhelmed. Which is what I saw from Turner. Spurrier just didn't care
Too bad he isn't half the offensive mind that Turner is. |
Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
i would just like to see the redskins being run by real football people, not by a really, really, really rich fan/owner.
bring back charley casserly, let him bring in the coach he wants to work with, let them two together put together the staff and players that they want. |

Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
I don't want Holmgren simply because I don't think of us a great WCO, I think of us as the power running, bootleg, playaction type, like shanahan. But if for some crazy reason, shanahan doesn't want to come here, or we don't get him, and we get stuck with holmgren, atleast it won't be as tough of a transition since we're already in the WCO, and hey maybe zorn will stay as the QB coach and/or the OC? maybe?

Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
i do wonder how the skins would have faired with fassil(sp) as headcoach and zorn as oc.

Mike Shanahan ran the WCO too. He just had some good backs that allowed him to not have to throw the ball like most other WCO's do until his last few seasons in Denver. I would think the same due to Zorn would still be calling the plays. |

If we end up getting rid of Zorn mid-season once we're eliminated from playoffs we should put Snyder at OC. ...Really...put him at OC and let him put on the headset and call the plays. He'd finally get a picture of how stupid he looks on the field and then maybe realize how fundamentally dumb it is for an owner with no football background to be calling plays inside the locker room. |

Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
Blatche knows more than he's willing to say, but he doesn't want to sabotage Zorn. The problem starts with Vinny, and the quicker he's history the quicker the Redskins will start to recover. Oh, by the way, I agree with everybody else who says that Landry is playing poorly. I hope he wakes up and is taught how to help the team instead of hurting it.

Re: DC Pro Sports: Smoke Signals, Mike Holmgren to DC?, and more coming
Blatche is a great coach (Say what???). We were 4th best defensive team last year. Where are we at so far this year after signing Haynesworth, Orakpo and Jarmon? Still, it's the offensive line. Fire Bugel if you have to because his linemen can't be that bad!

Holmgren is the coach, that we need Dan Snyder to hire. He is the perfect fit. He is a proven winner that was very consistant as a coach. Gruden only won because he took oover Dungee's team. Shanahan only won, when he had Elway. And if you want a huge laugh, check this out.
