I agree with most you said, but its plain fact this season that when he has a hole he cant get through. And this might sound crazy, but now the way he runs with both arms wrapped around the football is why he always seems to be off balance. Call me crazy he just not running right.
yeah i don't how much those bone spurs have to do with it. especially with them bringing in so many RB's to workout and all. I do agree he has lost something not sure if he has lost everything yet. |
Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
i need we need to clear our cap in 2010. With the new cba that will be in place after 2010 it will be harder to have big numbers on the contract. Being an uncapped year, it will be best to do it this year. I am not stupid and know next to none of this will actually happen, but if we we can for cap reasons trade haynesworth (and maybe hall, but I think he might be too important to get rid of) and get rid of portis I think it will be extremely beneficial. I think we need to scrap our team and start anew. I think we need to draft a qb next year and get rid of campbell. I think our team is a joke as it is, and we need to start over which we won't be able to do unless we free up some cap space. This is because we don't have enough young talent to build purely through the draft, so we will need to pick up some key (young) free agents to help us along.
Trade Haynesworth??? Not gonna happen. Its not like he is playing bad. Dan would still have to pay all the guaranteed money and he wouldn't do that. I also think if next year is uncapped I think his contract was done so a lot of the cap hit would be absorbed next year. |

Trade Haynesworth? That's like saying trade Cooley. Come on, you wanna dump our $100 million investment that fast? Absolutely not. |
Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
For all the people calling for Campbell to go and draft another QB... is he the problem with the offense? I'm not someone who's on his bandwagon, but I surely don't want to see him gone considering he's going to be better than most rookies and a lot of starting QBs currently.
For those wanting him gone, which presumably would mean we're drafting QB with our first pick and ignoring OL AGAIN, would Peyton Manning or Tom Brady have made us competitive? I really don't think so. It's in the trenches where the problems lie (at least on the offensive side of the ball) and that's what needs to be addressed. Basically, I'd just want to get rid of some veterans on the defensive side of the ball who aren't the same as they used to be. |

Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
How about C.Portis for Darren Mcfadden whatever it takes to get CP out and Mcfadden in.

Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
Don't you guys think this is way too early?? But once again, this is the warparth, I'm not supposed to be surprise I guess..
Smoot, R. Thomas, Cartwright, and Betts would be my choices.. And not resign Phillips, Wynn (assuming we resign him back after our punter Smith recovers) and Collins.. I also would try to restructure Randle El and Portis' contracts to lesser value.. |

I guess it depends on how bad he'd take a money hit for the team. |

I was thinking of same thing when I wrote my first post, I'm not even sure if Randle El would either but we still have to try, anyway.. |
Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
Portis has restructured before. I'm sure if asked he'd do it again

Yeah, but do you think he will ask for "no practice clause" and an "undermind and alienate team mates and coaches when ever clause" to make up for lost money. |
Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
Speaking of Portis...it will be an interesting dynamic when Snyder and the Skins finally release CP. With Snyder and CP being great friends I wonder if we'll keep Portis longer than he is serviceable. Also with his contract being a factor we could have Portis even longer than anyone anticipates.

I like CP, but i sure hope your wrong but i got this bad feeling u might be right. Portis has lost some steps and cant seem to pick up his feet high enough off the ground with out tripping, maybe its in his contract to lead the league in phantom tackles. But we should trade him while we can, got to admit he is the best pass blocking back in the league. |
Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
I hope we win Sunday I live in Charlotte and I am going to the game!!!! Get rid of Betts, Rock, Smoot, Rabach, Daniels, Wynn. 1st round RB u need atleast two. 2nd round LB. 3rd round Jarmon. 4th round OG. 5th round OG. 6th and 7th best available. Lets wait til after the Eagles then start whining.

Re: Who would you get rid of for 2010?
I'm assuming that the rest of the year is going to go like the first third. Maybe that makes me pessimistic, but I just don't see it happening this year.
Portis' and Sellers' arguing the other day got me thinking about players on our roster who are still serviceable, but probably not going to be a part of the latest rebuilding effort in DC. So the question is, name players that could still have some trade value and/or represent addition by subtraction. Madden rules apply. (no salary cap considerations, draft status, just who needs to go) My list: 1. Portis. Quite simply, the dude has lost more than a step. He's not really outrunning anyone anymore and his habit of tripping over his own feet when he does break free is frustrating. Couple that with the fact that he doesn't have the physical makeup to be a battering ram and an act that is increasingly wearing thin; and it's time to move on. (i understand this is borderline impossible with the cap) 2. Moss. Inconsistency is the new hallmark of his game. Lazy on some of his routes and hands that are becoming TO-like. Doesn't seem to have the makeup to be a veteran coach type player. Plus, he's one dimensional, once his wheels start to go, it's over. He's still fast so maybe trade him to the Raiders for two first round picks. (oh wait, we're not New England.) 3. Campbell. With our pick in the top 12 of the draft next year, I see us going QB, despite the needs we have at Oline. Campbell just needs to get the hell out of DC. He's a serviceable qb, but he's not going to carry a team with as many holes as the Redskins. I'd love to see a sign and trade for a mid round pick, but I doubt it happens. I can definitely see him succeeding somewhere else. 4. Laron Landry. What have you done in your time in DC? Hmm? Nothing... yup, sounds about right. Despite ridiculous physical gifts, you can't tackle to save your life. You're a strong safety trying to play free. I'm not sure some of the ineffectiveness hasn't been a result of scheme. I mean, does any other team in the league keep the free safety 25 yds off the line of scrimmage? That said, Horton and Doughty are proving to be "good enough" at SS, Landry probably has some value around the league. Really, my hearts not in this one but LL has been extremely disappointing. (ok, let the "retarded thread" bashing begin. :woot:)
Hey can you tell me where to buy what you are smoking. |
