He is definitely not ready now but I love the fact that he has not resigned and still wants to somehow make the Skins better. His press conferences are really upsetting though because after the Skins go out and lose to horrible team after horrible team, he says "lots of good things today" well yeah, no one died, thats a good thing. Just once I want him to say, we were shit today and we need to completely change how we are doing things.

Just once put the onus on the team and say you guys really need to get better. The reason I say this is that what he is basically saying is that it is okay to lose as long as " a lot of good things happened". thats bs.

But, the way he has carried himself, although at times appears to be kind of a "golly gee" type of personality, he has that likable personality. I can't help but to like the guy and root for him. Certainly if all possible I wouldn't want him to fail in Washington, but it's obvious even if the Redskins start winning again and win the rest of the games of this season, Zorn probably wouldn't get any credit for it (would be all given to the bingo caller!)[/quote]

Dude, I don't know what your problem is, but you need to ditch the attitude and act like you have some sense. You don't know a thing about me. I don't know a thing about you. If you're man enough to shut your trap then I'm man enough to let it go.

The point of this thread is to give Zorn some appreciation, not to be so sensitive because I called him a Christian. Wow, that's just ridiculous!

My response to the title: NO!

I'm convinced that success in this league is all about schemes and coaching. Just look at the broncos. Looking at their front 7 coming into the season, they without a doubt had the worst defense in football. Most of their starters were all crappy backups for other teams. Look at where they are now with Mcdaniels and Nolan. Enough said.

On a completely different note...

Does anyone ever believe that writing "enough said" or "nuff said" or "thread closed" is going to end the discussion? Or that no one else can add more to the thread after their amazing point?

Not trying to single you at Skinster, just always wondered about that style comment.

We all know that the playcalling has been one of the many problems but I also like what this article says, if you haven't seen it, about the execution of the plays being the problem not the "play calling"

The funny thing is, when the plays are executed perfectly, no one complains about the play calling even though the play calling may not be a perfect balance of run VS pass. I remember several years ago, maybe back in the Norv Turner days, the Tampa Bay Bucs kept running the same running play up the middle, over and over again against us. Why? Because it worked each and every time. My point is, when the execution is not there, then the play calling is at fault. Now, I'm not saying Zorn's play calling has been great, because he has called some plays that I thought were not the right plays to call at that particular time. But, last year Zorn looked to be brilliant because
the execution was there.

So, do we still put the blame on the coach at that point or is it the player's fault?

Fair enough and I agree with you. Like I said before, Jim Zorn is not head coach material at this point, but I do think he has backing of the players in the locker room.

Let me ask this....I thought Zorn only had 2 yrs. Somewhere I thought I read he had this yr and one more yr? Which would be a third yr. If so.....Since DS doesn't want to cut Zorn cause he would have to pay him ....could DS demote him to QB coach and bring in a new GM and HC? and if Zorn doesn't like it he can leave?
