Sounds like one of our corp sales meeting :vomit:
I'm looking for one of those french fry cutters like they have at George & Steve's Steak House.
Not familiar with what they have but there are quite a few commercial style ones that operate basically on the same principle.

This is the one that we got at the place I lived in Charlotte. One of the roomies was very picky about fries being the same exact size, so hand cutting had to be replaced.

Liked that it was nice and heavy cast iron body, the blades and their mounting plates were all stainless, etc. It comes with the 3/8 inch blade and we picked up the 1/4 as well. Don't forget that most of these things mount, but you can find suction cup feet for them as well. We just put it on a silicone baking mat on top of the cuonter and that worked fine. If there's something more specific that you're looking for let me know.

I'm a software engineer (B.S. in CS) that's also a part-time wise guy life coach. Whether you need assistance in making life choices or have a software development related question (mainly Java and SQL) I can help you.

To you guys doing dev, etc what are the better degrees/focuses right now?

I know MIS was big here recently but it seems that there's always something new to focus on for getting hired. I know that SharePoint specialisits seem to be in demand.

I have a BS in Computer Science and MS in Software Engineering. I can answer functional questions about code, and can also give advice to folks thinking of jumping into this line of work. I have been both a government contractor as well as a federal employee (currently).

I love cars and the automotive industry, so I'd rather talk about that (we need more car threads around here).

MIS = Product Manager.
Database Admin = $$$$$$$.

When it comes time to buy a home, I'll be asking a lot of questions to many of you here
LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

Comp Sci and Comp Eng will be better than MIS...

Like saden said, Oracle/SQL/DBA type stuff is always in demand and gets big bucks. My company is always on the look out for Java developers. On the networking side, any Cisco experience is a big plus.

Since Sharepoint is relatively new, if you can get the training and become a specialist, there's a market for that. One of the things I'm looking into training for is Sharepoint Branding, because the way it's built, it's very nit-picky when it comes to customization of the initial package. Very tedious work.

Many IT shops are getting their trial by fire since many companies want the Sharepoint presence, but aren't willing to pay for training. That's where I'm at now. We have an internal Sharepoint site as well as having stood one up for a client (both WSS 3.0, no MOSS 2007 yet), and the Senior SysAdmin and I have basically done everything via Google and Textbook.

Application development mostly of the web variety but plenty of client app work in the past. I do this for a local municipality now but spend at least half my time performing director duties for the entire IT dept.

I've bought and sold more houses than most do in a lifetime in the past 10 years and have experience with the rental markets.

I have BA's in English and film studies from Penn State and almost 4 years English teaching experience in Japan (as well as about half a year in mortgage sales like the homeboy GM). So yeah, I have no skills other than social, although I do plan on starting law school in September so holla at me in three years and I hope to be a little more useful.

I was also a techno DJ for several years and have traveled a ton in Asia, so if you are looking to disappear into a great club for a Saturday night or a remote jungle for a longer stretch, I can help with either:)

I would love to take you up on that. East Asia is high on my list of places to travel.
