If you honestly felt that we were one chess piece away from having a super bowl contender, then I would maybe consider picking up TO.

The problem is we are SOOO far away from being a contender at this point, why bother with an over the hill attitude problem like TO. If you look at our current receivers, there is a lot of young up-and-coming talent there in Mitchell, Thomas, and Kelly. Receiver is not our biggest issue IMO, and wasting the time and energy in managing a known locker room cancer like TO is the LAST thing this team needs to distract it.

Boswell said it well in his piece from the Post yesterday, the skins finally have a qb that will allow them to evaluate their receiver talent. We'll know quickly if we have play-makers or bums when #5 tattoo's their chest 30 yards down field. At least wait for a couple of mini-camps to let the coaching staff make their evaluations before going him.
LOL, OMG. I tell people we are way off from a SB and need to rebuild and I'm met with ..."no, Allen and Shanahan think we are contenders" "we don't need a Rookie QB cause they are going to try and make a run at it."

I decide to buy into the "hey we are one player away" attitude again since thats the Skins motto and I see "no, we are way too far away from being SB contenders." LOL.

Our oppinions are so far away from each other. It's funny.

Valid points.

TO at this point is a hired gun. I too would rather not see a 36 year old WR taking snaps away from our younger guys.

LOL... how true! But here is the truth.
"IF", we were "1" player away from winning the SB, WE WOULD BE IN THE SUPERBOWL!

Most teams that compete in the SB are more than "1" away from the SB. The diff. is they play as "1" UNIT

1 UNIT > 1 PLAYER

LOL...
I don't see it, but if for some strange reason that McNabb went to Shanahan and asked him to get T.O., then ok, go get him. I cannot see that happening however.
One would think Shanahan would consult with McNabb before any consideration would be given to bringing TO here, knowing the trension that has existed between the two in the past. I agree with you though, I just don't see it happening.......but, stranger things have happened.

T.O has been declining since 2008.

Really, How?

2009 Rec-55 ***Yds-829 ****Avg-15.1 ***Lng-98 ***1st 33 w/55 Rec
2008 Rec-69 ***Yds-1052 ***Avg-15.2 ***Lng-75 ***1st 38 w/69 Rec

If he's not getting the ball in 2009 as often as he was in 2008, his stats will reflect that.

Note: His avg/yd. has stayed the same. His rate of 1st has increased if you take in account the Rec.

Statistically he has stayed the same.

You'll see a large decrease in 100+yd games and an increase in games with 70 or less yds a game.

I see what your saying but, it's still the rec. thats kill'n him.

Look at game 11 in 2009. He had 9 rec. for 197 yrds. Besides that game his highest total rec. was not more than 5 rec. and much less than that in most games. In fact he had 10 games with fewer than 4 rec.

I guess it comes down to personal perspective. But I would be willing to bet that a Mcnabb/T.O. combo would produce HUGE Stats.

Question is, Like Matty stated earlier, "would Mcnabb want to go down that road again?"

Alright now look at who else Romo was throwing balls to

With TO it's not so much about his production levels either up or down, rather more about the distraction he is. His abilities cannot be disputed, who left in the league want to deal with the drama he brings?
