Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
funny how when d hall speaks out now.. vs one "bad play" it's cool
last year not so much I'm cool with it though just if you blamed hall's talk last year, portis in any of the last few, you should think about what you say
Was he only speaking out about the one play or the fact that the defense was getting torched by Johnson most of the second half? I havent heard the interview, so I am asking a general question for those that have. |
Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
I have no problem with what hall said...

Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
Hall sounded like he was pissed at JH for putting Phillip on AJ. I really don't think it would have mattered if Hall was on Johnson but atleast he's fired up!
There's nothing wrong with Hall being fired-up [so to speak] It's his delivery that has some people scratching their heads. Haven't we had enough of these controversial issues for one season? Sounds familiar, one player dictating how he should be utilized above all others. Even if the coaches were to concede to his demands, I wonder what makes him think he could cover AJ one-on-one giving up so much in physical statue. This is just another team issue that should never have gotten in the media. |

It's not like he's never covered a taller guy before. |
Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
[I]For the first time, Hall revealed that Haslett considered changing plans late in the game to best utilize the Pro Bowl corner as Washington squandered the lead. "He started to make the adjustment [in the] middle of third quarter to [have Hall] go follow 80 [Johnson]," Hall said. But Haslett told Hall he "didn't want to do something I haven't practiced," Hall said.
practiced what? a particular coverage type? game planning for Johnson? seems silly |

In all fairness to Doughty, he's a back-up player and there's a reason for that. The coverage was there on the touchdown play, AJ just used his superior athletic ability to make the play. exchange Hall for Doughty, AJ still makes that play. That's just MO....I thought Buchanon released AJ to the safety a little too soon, had he stayed underneath a little longer Schaub may have had second thoughts about throwing to AJ. |
Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
Well, the defense as a whole failed in the second half of that game. As well as the special teams. Noone made plays, noone stopped the texans from moving down the field at will when they needed to.
Everyone that is on the defense and named Fred Davis should be absolutely upset with themselves. They only need to look in the mirror as to why we are 1-1 instead of 2-0 with a real shot of starting the season out 4-0. |

Asked at his news briefing later about Hall's remarks, Coach Mike Shanahan said: "Well, first of all, I'm not exactly sure how it was said. But just listening to your comments, I want all the players thinking that way. I want Carlos Rogers thinking that way, I want DeAngelo thinking, LaRon Landry, Kareem Moore, all those type of guys, wanting the pressure to cover the top receiver. Same thing inside with London Fletcher. You want guys that believe in themselves and know they can get the job done."
Coach doesn't have a problem with it, neither do I. Get some, D. Hall! |

Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
Well, possibly more than any team in the NFL, we have the potential to improve through the season. ALL of our coaches and many of our guys are new. Our systems and terminology are new. With familiarity will come vast improvement. Things will start to "click". It should show from one week to the next as the season progresses...................I hope
Since the defense is ranked 32nd in the league at the moment you posted this, there is no defensive unit in the league who has the potential for greater improvement than the Redskins' defense. That is a mathematical certainty. |

Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
Maybe Cutler is a clown, but DHall is a shit talking assclown who should keep his mouth shut. I'm sick of this ****ing guy and his antics.

Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
I thought it was funny. 4 picks in one game is kinda ridiculous.
|
Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
As far as I'm concerned, until Cutler throws 4 TDs against Hall as a Redskins, Hall can say whatever the F he wants. You are a clown to throw four picks to the same DB and then say that you'd do it again.
Can't agree with the cafeteria fans on this one. |
