Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
Campbell should admit that he was given the keys to the castle and took it for granted. This guy is quite a salesman when it comes to marketing himself. Thank God he is gone and I wish him well with his new team.
Just wonder what his new coach will do with him after they go after yet another cast-off QB. Of course we can't say anything better because what we have here needs to be improved on. But, at least Grossman can read defenses better than Campbell or McNabb can and gets rid of the ball quicker than they ever will.
Campbell had what was it 5 or 6 Offensive coordinators while with the Skins not to mention and O line that was not quit hall of fame.....how dare he? You also give your buddy Rex way to much credit he had the luxury of working with KS in texas before coming to the Skins ,DM is 10 times the QB Rex Grossman is. |
Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
Its like a golfer who fires his caddie when he's playing bad, somebody has to be blamed and since the golfer doesnt want to blame himself its gotta be the caddie's fault. Same with JC, he's not gonna blame himself for his poor play so the natural thing to do is blame his former team.

For us he's probably done, but put him on the right team and I bet DM lights it up! DM5/Redskins was awkward and felt weird from the start. As excited as I am that he is here, it should have never happened. I wish him all the best. |
Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
I agree with you, and think that if Donovan landed on the right team, he may have one more good season, but he is 36, and he is no Brett Favre with all his injuries. Next year is probably his last year in football, at least as a starter.

Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
DM just turned 34 this fall
I think he's far from done. Despite his struggles this year he was on pace for over 4000 yards. |
Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
Yeah I can see DM in San Fran or Minn and having a better year than he had for us. He was a poor fit for what we were trying to do on offense.

Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
I'd like to see McNabb back for another year...but I'd be surprised if it happens

I wouldnt be surprised at all if DM comes back. |
Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
I don't know. Some days I think of course he will, other days I think now is the best time to get rid of him. Contractually, things are set up in such a way that this (this offseason) is the best time to move him.

His nickname should be, FUMBLE! That's exactly what happens when he is hit. McNabb is done in DC. The Skins need a new signal caller. Grossman is a stopover. |

Yeah, just going off how his contract is set up, seems more than likely he won't be here next year. |
Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
It's a shame the way it's gone down with Mcnabb becasue if they improve the team he will easily be the best option available to hold down the fort until our draft pick QB is ready. my fear is that they will be an improved team across the board and it won't matter becasue they are starting a turnover machine at QB. McNabb for all his faults is much better at taking care of the ball then Rex. Rex makes plays for both teams and that results in losses usually.

Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
Bottom line....We weren't going anywhere with Campbell and we're not going anywhere with McNabb. There's a reason why the Eagels let him go to a team WITHIN the division..along the way stealing two draft picks.

Re: Cambell blasts redskins, says he was "scapegoat"
Jason Campbell started his career with a team run by Vinny Cerrato and Danny Boy Snyder.
Now he on a team run by Al Davis. I wonder what the next point on that career arc might be... |
