Then Trent Williams (stupid penalty) needs to be smacked along with Reed Doughty for missing a tackle on Gore that produced a long gainer. Fred Davis and Austin for dropping passes.
Anybody else notice that for the 2nd straight week, Davis was invisible until garbage time? As with two of Grossman's picks against Philly, Davis hardly competed for the ball on Beck's pick yesterday.
I know it's probably been mentioned a million times before but what frustrates me is the scoreline. We didn't deserve to score 11pts. All fluff garbage yards bumped up stats for our players and made the game look alot closer than it actually was.
49ers dominated the game from the first snap and we had no chance from the beginning.
Well I wouldn't say the 49ers dominated from the first snap. Neither team got off to a solid start really. |

Davis seems to lack focus at times, no doubt. |
It was shown on replay that wr's were open downfield. It's very obvious that Beck simply isn't comfortable pushing the ball downfiled. To me it just looks like he can't drive the ball into tight spots. Whatever it is I've seen enough. But not giving Kyle a pass. He has to shoulder some of the blame too.
Agreed...there's plenty of blame to go around. But many Redskins fans want to fire Kyle and think that our offense would suddenly improve a bunch if Mike were calling the plays. I don't believe that. And anyone calling for coaching firings 24 games into a rebuild is the equivilent of a 39 year old Dan Snyder... |

I would not say dominate either but they were definitely in control the entire game. Never did I feel like the Skins were going to win that game or threaten them. IT was basically awesome sack by Kerriagen! Then hours of 3 and outs and punts, wow so exciting! |

Davis really needs to step it up. I hope it this week it was due to his injury, but he really doesn't seem to know how to use his size and height advantage. |

Yesterday I thought Kyle had a good game calling plays. I'd like to see a few more running plays mixed in but for the most part he did well mixing things up. |
Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins vs. 49ers) (Thread is Open)
This game and the comments afterwards by Shanahan confirm we are in full rebuild mode. There is truly no reason to go back to Grossman at this point, he is who he is. While Beck has the potential to be historically bad, there's not a significant downside to letting him play out the final 10 games. The only benefit to Grossman is we may see what Hankerson, Paul and Helu can do with a middling QB.

These guys are supposed to be our future but with Beck continuing to play like complete doo-doo it's hard to see how they can learn to be effective, especially Hankerson and Paul.

I felt with John Beck at the helm, from snap one, I had zero confidence in him pulling out a victory.

I would give Beck one more game, but whether he starts or not has nothing to do with rebuilding. Beck is not the QB of the future and if there is a benefit to WR development with Grossman, so be it. Although I must say that regardless of who is under center, it is going to be fugly with our toughest stretch of the schedule coming up after the Miami game. |

I think that this is one reason why we have lost 4 straight. The team seems to have lost its fight and energy. It seems reasonable to presume that a lack of faith in Beck by the players might have something to do with the loss of pizzazz. I never thought that I would say it but I would like Wrecks to start. Then if/when we are eliminated, it's Crompton time! |

In the remainder of the season, the young WRs and Crompton may begin to develop some timing. We don't know what our QB situation will be next year, but it should most certainly not involve Rex & Beck. |
Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins vs. 49ers) (Thread is Open)
Guys, is there really anything there with Crompton? Or are we just really grasping?
|
Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins vs. 49ers) (Thread is Open)
I have no idea why any of you want to see Beck ever again. He can't throw a ball over 10 yards with any type of accuracy or zip, his ball wobbles, he just doesn't resemble what an NFL Qb should be. Yeah Rex is a turnover machine, but at least he gives the wr's chances. 14 catches by a RB??? Roy Helu has his name next to the great Art Monk?? (shake head)
