Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
If Cam Newton can do it, Griffin III can do it too. He could stay for his senior season but why risk his stock when there's no guarantee that he'll be sizzling hot like he is at the present. It's better for him to turn pro. And I'm not saying this because the Redskins need his services. What I am saying? Of course I am!
First of all, do not delude yourself into thinking RGIII is Cam Newton. IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE. See best freak athlete on the field vs great athlete, but not even as great an athlete as say an over 30 Vick, with less experience, not as great skills (feel free to include any and all you would like), and less of a chance to be great because of said deficiencies than Vick in his career. Mark it down, and please feel free to browse through my past posts about such gems as Jimmy Claussen, Jamarcus Russell, etc predraft. Don't feed into the hype.. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
You was wrong about RG3 and I was right. For the record, I don't object to any criticism as long as it's valid. To say that RG3 isn't a accurate passer if false. Anyone who watches college football know what I'm saying is the truth. Do you agree or disagree? Answer that question before you just to another irrelevant subject.
First of all, huh? I was wrong? "You just to another irrelevant subject." ??? Second, I never said I thought RGIII was a bad player. I just said there were other QB's I liked better than him in the first round, particularly Matt Barkley. If Barkley hadn't stayed in school, I'd still feel that way. So I disagree with the way you anoint RGIII. You still haven't said what I was wrong about. RGIII hasn't even been drafted yet, so you really can't say I was wrong about anything. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
A statement was made about RG3's accuracy. No matter if you're judging a guy based on completion percentage or ball placement he's still an extremely accurate passer. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. That is what the whole debated was about. He made the debate about me defending RG3 while ignoring my point. What's atrocious is your football IQ. Why don't you take GM's c0ck out of your mouth and let him speak for himself.
Aaaaaaaannnnd you're done. Nice knowing ya. Not really. |

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Barkley screwed this draft for us by going back to school, I wish he would change his mind :(
Honest question without an edge: Do you think that RGIII has a windup in his mechanics which may compromise his effectiveness in the NFL?
Nah, I don't think so.
I think he's done a good job of tightening up his mechanics from last year (2010) His motion has improved from the carriage of the ball to reducing the windup or specifically to my eye: he would drop his throwing arm down before starting his setting/cocking to throw which creates wasted motion. I still think Griffin has a 'bigger' then ideal throwing motion.(I also think Luck's is bigger then ideal.) Assuming we can agree that QBs like: Vick, Rodgers, Peyton have 'ideal' throwing motions because their compact, tight with little to no wasted movement. However both prospects can release the ball quickly and are consistent and repeatable in their mechanics. Griff can also vary his throwing platform and arm angle and still deliver an accurate pass. His throwing motion isn't an issue for me. |

He's not Tebowesque or anything like that. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Unfortunately I don't. People are gonna be trading away the whole farm to move up for that guy, us included possibly.
One of those times I wish the lockout was this year. Would be much easier to go into the draft see if you can get RG3 and if not pick up Flynn as a consolation prize after. Right now our options are as follows. A. Trade up for RGIII B. Hope that a talent like Blackmon (WR OKST) falls to us and keep our second round pick. Sign Matt Flynn to be the QB. C. Same as B except use the 2nd round pick to pick Foles or Tannenhill. D. Trade back and get one of the second tier QB's. |
Bottom Line Landry44, you have a tendency to post on here (particularly those who don't agree with you) as if you're god's gift to this forum. And anyone ekse's opinion is beneath you, with your constant "it's obvious you don't watch college football" If you really feel you're smarter than all of us that's fine but then why do you stay? If not, then you gotta change your tone
You obviously don't watch this forum if you feel that way. :D
Do you always ask loaded, rhetorical questions?
So what type of person are you. The type kill a world renowned cancer researcher with a family or eat a baby? |

That team desperately needs to get Bradford some playmakers, and Blackmon is NFL ready. Dude is a total monster. I'd LOVE to have him in the B&G. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
We Shouldn't Have To Trade Up. The Colts Taking Luck Is A Given. The Rams,Vikings,Browns And Jaguars Already Have Young QBs.

Browns aren't sold on McCoy by any means... |

we pick ahead of the Jags so dont have to worry about them. the browns and a trade up from the dolphins might be a possibility. |

Not always no. Am I wrong though? His still of play is great as long as he doesn't get lit up and break something, which has been pretty often since he's been on the Eagles. |

Way to stay classy Landry. Cute touch with the 0 in c0ck. Shows you care when you put touches into your work like that. |
