Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Wilbur Marshall for his play here and in Chicago.
Broncos' Steve Atwater and Karl Mecklenburg. Kevin Greene - Rams/Steelers/Panthers. LeRoy Butler - big hitter and INT machine for the Packers. The remainder of the Hogs. I'll probably get killed for this one, but Herschel Walker. |
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Steve Atwater isn't there yet, but he should be very soon.
You forget how many great receivers with full careers are not in Canton. That would and should keep Sterling Sharpe from wearing the gold jacket.
I agree that he will not get in. I think he absolutely should. Not one eligable reciever for the HOF was as great as him. They all just played longer. |
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Dave Butz: 3x Super Bowl; 1 Pro-Bowl, named to 80s NFL All Decade team. 35 career sacks, had 11 in one season. Missed only 4 games in 16 year career.
I think his contribution was unfortunately overshadowed by some of other stars he played with: Darrell Green, Dexter Manley, and Charles Mann just to name a few.
I agree that Dave SHOULD be in. The problem is that 1 Pro Bowl which will probably keep him out. He was nominated this last go around and I forget how far along until he got cut. I think there is an outside chance that Dexter will go in one day. His off the field issues will follow him. While super stars can get past that (LT), I don't know if just a "star" can. |

Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Bubba Smith.......don't know if he's in but he should be.

His helmet looked like it was recovered from Pearl Harbor. Not kidding. |
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
On the fence, but I think either Lamar Parrish or Joe Lavender should get in.
You know what, we've had some of the best all-time secondary to play in the Burgundy and Gold. Sean Taylor Darrell Green Pat Fischer Ken Houston Brig Owens Honarables: Lamar Parrish (One of my fav Skins) Joe Lavender |
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
I have heard through the grapevine the Redskins are pushing for both Larry Brown and Pat Fischer.
The one name I am surprised none of you has mentioned is Len Hauss: Len Hauss NFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com 5 Time Pro Bowl Center in the Redskins Ring of Fame. He was the starting center for all of both Sonny Jurgensen's and Billy Kilmer's time with the Skins. He was also the starting center for the beginning of Joe T's time. Just think about that a moment. |

Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
I know there's a long list at cornerback, but I really feel like Ade Jimoh deserves to get in. I mean, how many players can say they've had their own fan club?
|
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Mark Mosley. Only full-time kicker to win NFL MVP. The team knew to keep it close, Mosley would win it.
|
Re: Make your Case for non-HOFer
Brian Mitchell definitely deserves to be in the HOF. Coy Bacon, Dexter Manley, Charles Mann, and possibly Joe Theismann.

Go back and find me a center in the Hall without at least one Super Bowl ring, maybe two. |
