Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?
From the list, which is quite uninspiring, I'd go with (in order of preference) McDermott, Fewell, Bevell, Caldwell.
McDermott-Pros: Learned under Andy Reid and Jim Johnson, two highly regarded coaches on structure and organization. Lots of history in the NFCE. Aggressive but disciplined defense. Defenses have had an upward trajectory each year the past few years. Cons: Never been a head coach at any level. Unsure of offensive philosophy and who his OC would be (maybe Chudzinski). Is he ready or the next Spagnuolo? Fewell-Pros: Head coaching (interim) experience. 3-4 and 4-3 scheme experience. NFCE experience. Cons: Uneven performances with his defenses. Doesn't scream leader by his demeanor. Bevell- Pros: Decent history with Favre and Wilson. Run based which fits our personnel but not afraid to throw. Experience with a mobile QB. Cons: Have you actually WATCHED Seattle on offense? They get big plays from Lynch and lots of improv plays from Wilson but their 'scheduled' passing plays are pedestrian. Rankings have been middling, high teens, for most of his career. Leadership questions and he was fired just two years ago as an OC in Minnesota. Do we think he's turned it around that much? Caldwell- Pros: Excellent QB coach. Would probably be the best mentor for RG3 of this group. Has worked with some great QB so he could impart some wisdom from them. Cons: pretty much everything else. Doesn't seem like a great leader. Don't know about his overall team management skills. I'm sure he's a great football man but I don't know if he's what we need right now. |

This. Can we stop with the Redskins reunion tour of Williams, Danny Smith and Russ Grimm? The only former Redskins coaches who should even be considered would be Whisenhunt and Bowles. |

Thank you Matty, I didn't know that. |
Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

And Grimm OL coach |
Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?
Voted Bevell but want Shaw or maybe even Sumlin a bit more.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?
Jim Caldwell was 3 years as a Head Coach and finish 26-22. He was 2-14 in a year without Payton Manning. He is a good coach.
Paintrain- I will continue to pound my fist for Russ Grimm until he is eliminated from contention by Bruce Allen like Bill Cowher was today. |
From this list I would take Bevell... But if I had my choice, the top 3 would be David Shaw, Jay Gruden and Mike Zimmer in no particular order...
I actually would be ok with gruden. Anyone who can make dalton look competent can turn Griffen into a hall of famer. I don't know much about shaw..., not high on Zimmer. |

I'm sorry, but this is complete bullshit.... I would take Greg Williams over any one the current Redskin HC in this poll... Wisenhunt is going to Detroit, and no thanks on Bowels... |
Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?
Has x Cleveland coach C.H.U.D. Been rumored anywhere? I think he
Would be a good OC for us. |

The fact that hes been repeatedly passed up for HC jobs and been fired twice as a DC since leaving here, plus all the bounty baggage, what leads you to believe hes the best man for the job? Diehard I hear ya but see above minus Bountygate and the same goes for Grimm. Never even been a coordinator and you're ready to put him in charge of the franchise?? You think there's something there that 32 organizations repeatedly have missed? |
