Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015
I don't see Beasley permanently changing from OLB to playing inside, but TM, VB, KR, and RK lined up together at certain times would surely be interesting.

Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015
I personally dont think you take a guy away from his strength, especially when that strength is at a premium in the NFL. Beasley is best at rushing the passer, which he would only do on an occasional blitz from the MLB position. Taking him from a pass rusher to someone that covers TEs comes across as a mistake to me. Seems that it would be similar to moving Trent to RT so we could say we solved the RT position.
I'm sure you're right. I'm a bit hung up on his lack of ideal size for 3-4 OLB, although that hasn't hindered Von Miller or Elvis Dumervil. His first step, speed and quickness are very impressive. Plus he had excellent production in college. |
Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015
If this guy falls to us in the 2nd I would snatch him.

At least its this week. I wonder if there is any chance next year they move it back to mid April or earlier. I don't understand why they want it this far back. Sent from my S6 Edge |

Hear Redskins GM Scot McCloughan on Robert Griffin III, the NFL Draft - The Washington Post
Highlights from McC noon pre draft presser... Couple things that stood out to me: McCloughan says "we have seven (picks) right now and I'd love to get 10 out of this thing." McCloughan says team will address the offensive line and will change running game so "if you play the Washington Redskins, you feel it" McCloughan says he's looking for size and strength particularly at O-line. Also this nugget: McCloughan thinks a trade could happen if Leonard Williams falls to 5 | ProFootballTalk Draft cant get here fast enough folks |
Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015
Sounds good to me, never like Shanahan's approach to smaller quicker o-linemen.
From today's Keim article - Bill Polian on Redskins' Scot McCloughan's drafts: 'Meat and potatoes' - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN
I am the first to buy into the mantra "In Scot We Trust" but I think it important to make sure the discussion is based in reality. Even under the best circumstances, the draft is a crap shoot and even the best evaluators miss. Hopefully, Scotty McC replicates the success of his first three drafts, and not the failure of his latter two. From the same article - Bill Polian's take on McC's drafting tendencies: I am good with that.
He's going to miss on several picks. All GM's do. That's just the reality of being a NFL GM. We're just so desperate for a talent evaluator that many of the fans thinks he's going to hit on all his picks. Just hoping he nails three picks this draft. And a possible a undrafted free agent. People forget that there's a lot of NFL players that go undrafted. |
