Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
What was one of our biggest problems last year? The running game. If there's good high ranking caliber RB when it's our turn to pick, it would not suprise me if McC makes that the 1st pick.
Very big problem imo...but you think Elliot could be the pick at 21? Id be shocked if he was there or if McC went RB first. I think McC likes Matt Jones a ton and sees him as the lead back to start the season |
Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
I think we've got other more pressing needs than taking a RB in the 1st.

Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
What if Elliot fell? That's the only RB I'd take with that first pick.

No way, because we would most likely get a slew of trade partners at that point. It would also convolute our RB depth chart. We need defense defense defense..... |
Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
If Derrick Henry was sitting there in the 3rd round, I'd seriously consider him.

We need defense defense defense.....
Despite the valuable BPA education you've received free of charge from 30gut, you and others continue to talk about drafting or not drafting certain positions in Round 1 based on need. Shame on you! Also, "convolute our RB depth chart"? We have no RB depth chart. You mean to tell me that we couldn't use a do-it-all stud at RB? I fear that one of our division rivals will pick him and he'll be kicking our ass for 8-10 years. And, yes, we do need defense, defense, defense - with as many as 8 of our eventual 12 picks. But I do (sort of) agree with BPA in Round 1. You just can't let a potential game-changer slip by you because of the position he plays. |
Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
If we drafted Elliot in the first I would draft another at five or six and try to trade Jones.
And yea, we need a BPA... a defensive one. |

People forget that if Scherff was gone or if we traded down last year Todd Gurley would be our RB right now, so if Elliot is staring us in the face at 21 and no one is giving the far for him, I expect him to be a Redskin |
Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
If Ziggy Elliott is there at 21 we're lucky.

Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
The best RB in the draft might slide to 21?
Really? |
Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
Probably not, but stranger things have happened. Remember when Dez Bryant kept falling over to have the stupid fucking Cowboys luck into yet ANOTHER great deal in the draft? (the La'el Collins thing still chaps my ass)

Elliott doesn't carry the burden of character concerns that Dez Bryant did. He should be drafted well before #21. Don't be shocked if any of our division rivals draft Elliott in the First Round. They could all use him. I don't think we'll have a chance to draft him. I'm just hoping the other teams in the division don't draft him either, because he's a difference-maker. As for Dallas acquiring Bryant and Collins, Jerrah just takes more risks than most owners. Any team could have drafted Collins in the 7th Round. |
