Re: Who is your dream free agent?
Would you go after Mack now that he voided his contract with the Browns?
My preferred signings are Forte on offense and on defense either Laurinaitis or Weddle. Though he is about the same cost as Goldson, there's no question he's the vastly superior player. At one point Goldson was ranked 82nd out of 85 safeties in the entire NFL according to pro football focus.
^^ Interesting, I would not be interested in any of the guys you mentioned - including Mack. All are "old & expensive." Solid players in the prime but we would be paying for past production not future. As for Weddle v Goldson, and as has been said many times before, it is highly unlikely Goldson is going to be playing for 8M this year. Even if he does, however, because we got him a trade, we can cut him with no losses and he is off the books next year one way or another. Weddle is looking for a big pay day and multi year contract. On that issue, I'm with Scottie and think that's a bad plan for players over 30. |

Re: Who is your dream free agent?
So, Arian Foster just got cut.
Given his injury history, wonder what his asking price is. If he is looking for starting back salary (i.e. Matt Forte range), no thanks. If he is willing to be a complimentary back and has a reasonable asking price - maybe. Guess I see him going to NE where retread backs seem to either resuscitate their career for a year or two or fade into obscurity. |
Re: Who is your dream free agent?
Just say no to any big name FA's.
