It's not the NFCE if we can't have parity! What I wouldn't give for just 2-3 years of all the other teams totally sucking wang and we dominate.
Its a very good thing...but still even to first agree in principle was a head scractcher for sure. They were going to give up a top 10 pick and move back with that deal....what!!!!

They gave Mario Williams 2 year deal with like 8-9 million per. That's cray to me.
what's crazier is that they're replacing a younger guy that played well with an older guy that was terrible last year... and has rumors floating about his lack of effort. if you think MW is going to produce at pre 2015 levels, the money is right, but because 2015 happened, there should be a discount. guess they got impatient.

as far as other signings, i think the giants got JPP on a pretty good deal. from what i heard 10.5m is the cap, and that means he's played well and stayed on the field all year. the cb contract seems like it's too much money for a guy that's a #1 cb, but not a great one. if you want a corner though, there's not much out there.

bad news for us, williams (DT) is staying in SF. he's one of the 3 big FAs i'd be good with signing.

Curious to see Chase Daniel signing with the Eagles...apparently as a backup. I thought he'd be looking for starting job. Although I wonder if this means that Bradford will be on a short leash with the team.

Marvin Jones getting 8 million per year? Some of these contracts are going to get people fired.
ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Giants "plan to make a run" at transition tagged DE Olivier Vernon.

Despite re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul and reportedly coming to terms with free agent CB Janoris Jenkins, the Giants still have a lot of work to do on defense. Adding an ascending pass rusher like Vernon would be a fantastic next step. The Dolphins are expected to rescind Vernon's transition tag, meaning the Giants will not have to worry about Miami matching if they are able to work out a deal with the talented defensive end.

Looks like the Giants are going with the "win now" strategy...probably see the writing on the wall with Eli with the window closing.
I think Eli has several good years left. It's probably more of a win or else year for Jerry Reece.

I still can't believe a mediocre/average DE gets 15mil a year. Jaguars are a bunch of idiots really.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016

A lot of analysts have been saying that due to the large cap limit, having a cap floor, and a number of teams with huge cap rooms; free agency contracts are going to be somewhat inflated. It seems that a number of teams are in "win-now" mode due to their front office and/or coaching staff being on the hot seat (Jax, Miami, NYG). So I'm not surprised by a lot of these contracts.

Equally, I wont be surprised by the disgust of the fans when these free agents go "bust"

It seems like Vinny Cerrato is running the Giants, Dolphins and Jags:

I’m told DL Damon Harrison has earned and agreed in principle to a five-year, $46.25M deal with the #Giants. Massive get for the G-Men.

Although we are on this list, I'm glad that our current situation is much different.

Makes the FT for Cousins even more right. Would have been a few teams throwing numbers at him to sign.
