Re: Colts pregame thread
We beat the Colts by two scores. 31-21

Re: Colts pregame thread
As a Skins fan in Louisville, Kentucky, there are two teams the Skins have to beat (after, of course, the Dallas Cowboys) .... that's the Indianapolis Dolts, and the Cincinnati Bungles. Both of those franchises try to make Louisville part of their market. It's annoying, because they clog up the over-the-air TV choices we get here. And they suck.
Skins 35 Dolts 10 |
Re: Colts pregame thread
We better beat the Colts because you know who's coming after them.
Not ready to crown Dunbar just yet. It's one game. But to do what he has done, change positions at this level and become a starter is just a tremendous feat. You rarely see that happen in the NFL.
This. Dunbar looked *awesome* --- but that was against Bradford and an older Fitz/not impressive WRs. I'd be happy if he can hold his own over the season with the elite QBs we're playing this year.. But I can't believe it will be like the last game. Teams also may start to do more film review to find his weaknesses/etc. Anyway, it does say something about our recruiting dept / talent development / coaching -- that we're consistently developing promising young corners recently... |

Nice read! This speaks volumes of AP's commitment to football, it is impressive. I'm really curious to see how his body will hold up throughout this season. |
Re: Colts pregame thread
Paul Richardson (shoulder) is questionable for Week 2 against the Colts.
Coach Jay Gruden said Richardson suffered the injury in last week's game at Arizona. It's obviously not an encouraging sign that he was held out of Friday's practice. If Richardson can't go for Sunday's home opener, more work would fall on the plates of Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson and Jordan Reed. Receiving back Chris Thompson could also get a boost from Richardson's absence. Kinda sux, maybe 18 can step up |
I don't see Dunbar being the holdout type. We took a chance on him and essentially made his career here in the NFL. I feel he'd be pretty loyal to the Skins.
Now, once he plays his contract out (Which, if I remember correctly, isn't very long) and is a legitimate free agent I could see him wanting to be compensated for his worth. Then the question will be if we're willing to pay that amount or not.
Current Contract Year Age Base Salary (Guaranteed) Bonuses Cap Number 2018 26 $750,000 $750,000 $1,000,000 $0 $0 $0 $1,750,000 2019 27 $3,000,000 $1,000,000 $250,000 $0 $0 $4,250,000 2020 28 $3,250,000 $1,000,000 $250,000 $0 $0 $4,500,000 Total $7,000,000 $3,000,000 $500,000 $0 $0 $10,500,000 https://overthecap.com/player/quinton-dunbar/4416/ Next two years Dunbar will be making 3 million / year, which puts him around top 45 for cornerbacks. What a value if he pans out. |

I've watched the beginning of last week's game on the all 22 version. Haven't finished but it felt like the Cards' secondary was respecting Richardson's speed quite a lot, giving some cushion on a lot of plays. Don't know to what extent but I definitely think it helped the passing game... Now, the Colts' defense isn't exactly scary. So I won't lose a lot of sweat on that, I really hope we win big, the guys come out ready and hungry, wanting to shut the doubters down, gain confidence to build on for next week: Skins 31 Colts 20 |
Re: Colts pregame thread
Their starting left tackle is OUT. I'm predicting a career game for Preston Smith, and no less than three INTs for our secondary due to their inability to run the ball and no time to throw it.
Redskins offense does what they want all day. Skins: 37 Colts: 19 |
Re: Colts pregame thread
The broadcast last week made me want a shutout badly, and this game seems like as good a chance as we will get this season.

Never wish injuries to anyone, but it's "good" to see we're not the only ones hit by injuries. It's week 2 and both our tackles have injury designations, a bit scary, isn't it? https://www.redskins.com/team/injury-report/ |
