Re: Rob Ryan added to staff
Who cares if we added this sorry ass coach? If he was any good he wouldn't have been available. And if anybody wanted him he wouldn't be here.

I'm bald, and I say this without prejudice. Rob Ryan looks like my crazy racist coworker who enjoys conspiracy theories and spends his free time day drinking at the moose lodge. |

That's the spirit! I'm good with it. Hard to say how all these defensive minds who have been around a while will mesh with each other, but they shouldn't be short on ideas on how to make this defense better and more consistent. Could be a really good defense if they shore up the secondary, add some speed to the LB crew, and are able to generate a pass rush. |
Re: Rob Ryan added to staff
It, honestly, cant make the defense worse than it was down the stretch last year. It became abysmal.

Re: Rob Ryan added to staff
His most recent three stops...
In 2011 he was named defensive coordinator of the Cowboys, when they ranked 16th in points allowed per game, and then the next year dropped to 24th in points allowed per game. He was then fired by Jason Garrett. He was then hired by the Saints as DC in 2013 when he had a strong defense, finishing 4th in points allowed per game. But in 2014 his defense tanked, finishing bottom five. He was then fired from New Orleans in 2015 on the day after the Kirk Cousins and Jay Gruden led Redskins hung a 47 burger on his defense, in a 47-14 defeat of the Saints. The next year he was hired by his brother Rex as D Coordinator of the Bills, then fired along with Rex at the end of the 2016 season. Hasn't coached since. Good job fellas. You got someone who represents no threat to Manusky, I'll say that.
He's a not a good defensive coordinator....but as a position coach giving directions to the inside linebackers it appears to be a decent hire...I have no problem with him as a lowly position coach. |
