Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
I think you now see why you always take a potential franchise QB over any other position. If Tua or even Herbert were starting and if they were playing well we beat NY and Clev. Instead we have a really good player with 1 win.
If you don't have a QB you won't win shit. Period. You may get away with it from time to time but its never consistent. |
Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
Haskins finished strong last year, due diligence was needed.

Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
Put Haskins back in ..quickest way to Lawrence !

Actually putting Smith in would probably be...and then maybe he retires at the end of the season since he was able to come back and play some (still incredible that he's done it) and then we don't have that contract on us next season. Win Win. |
Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
Alex will be a pre June 1st cut. 8.6M in dead cap but 14.7 in cap savings.

Is it the same if he just retires? |

I've been saying this too. If the goal was to lose (tank) then Haskins would still be the starter. It's pretty clear that this team STILL needs a QB. I don't think we'll be in a position to get Lawrence without giving up too much. I don't know much about the rest of the potential QBs. I trust the scouting, seems like they have had some good drafts of late when the owner isn't involved in the decision. Hopefully they'll find a gem when the pick is in, and they don't reach. Maybe maneuver around the board to get in position to grab the guy they want without mortgaging the future. Can't wait for the year(s) that we aren't talking about the next year's draft by week 5. |
Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
Get the No. 1 pick, trade down to No. 2 and draft Fields. Hopefully dreams can come true.
Fields is the best player in the draft imo. |
Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?

Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
Rivera says there's no cutoff point for Kyle Allen; says he didn't have a drop dead point with Haskins, either. (did say there was a point where needed to see more; left it ambiguous). Just wasn't seeing what he wanted.

Re: What do you want to see in our next QB?
1. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence continued to prove why he is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite throwing his first interception in 364 days, Lawrence had 404 passing yards and five passing touchdowns, both career highs. He finished the game with a 219.5 passer rating and is now just the fifth ACC quarterback since 2000 to have a 150 or better efficiency rating in each of the first five games of a season. Coach Dabo Swinney has coached plenty of elite players, but Lawrence is unique.
“I’ve never been around a guy who’s just more dialed into today. Literally, today,” Swinney said. “When I see him Monday, he’ll be locked in on Monday. … He’s just so focused on his execution and his details, his reads, his footwork, all the little things. I’m just really proud of him.” |

Really getting tired of all the mixed messages already
He's not good at hiding shit, the tanking is clearly obvious. Even the teams social media shares shit like "We didn't say it would be a smooth process" |
