At least we're not the Broncos. On to Philly.

Or we're lucky not to have Josh McDaniels as a coach, who seems to be on schedule to run a second NFL team into the ground.

Interested take from former tackle that played for McDaniels (some of you may recognize Tyler Polumbus):
The Bills player quoted by Keim also said of Sam "It's just growing pains". He's right. Sam is a virtual rookie so he can't be expected to perform like a seasoned veteran every week.
I am not a big fan of the term "growing pains" as it is a colloquialism used for young players that people think will grow out of a certain trait, with out identifying why that is the belief. The fact that it is an identifiable trend after three games suggests that it might take awhile for that trait to improve. We will see I guess.

I don't get the entire "we suck attitude" we have been the epitome of an average team for the last 3 years. Won some games against good teams, lost some against bad teams, but didn't suck.

You know how it goes, it's the end of the world after every loss.

I can't help but think that another coach can't get more out of this group. You can't be in year 4 and have a home loss 37-3 against a coach who coached under you. That was embarrassing.

The Bills came into that game w/ only a couple sacks. smh.

I blame this on coaching

Hey I didn’t say we would lose I said they scare me. My heart says any given Sunday. My brain says 2-2. Had both these games as losses so 2-2 is fine if that is the case, but again I need to see us compete against a good team. We lose like we did yesterday and, well, it is probably going to be a long year.

No, but after every mediocre season it is, and yesterday screamed here we go again.

Plus that wasn’t just a loss that was an ass pounding with literally every player and coach coming up small.

Bring on the birds for better or for worse.

Agreed. But there are ways to minimize this:

Coaches need to get through to Howell and have him make smarter decisions with the ball. He needs to stop holding on to the ball and know when to get rid of it.

He also needs to protect himself. He had a long run in the first half and pretty much got crunched instead of sliding and protecting himself. He's going to get killed if he doesn't learn to how slide and protect himself on those scrambles.

EB needs to adjust his game plan and focus on the run. Having B. Rob play 20 snaps and only running the ball 5 times in the first half is unacceptable. I also think they need to start getting Rodriguez more involved, given Gibson's fumble problems.

Re: Bills Post-Game Thread

Gibson definitely has playmaker ability, but he needs to be in space if they are going to use him at all. His propensity the cough up to the ball is just too great. He's not to be trusted.

It's coaching, poor ability of identifying personnel (which can also fall under the "coaching category"), and Howell holding onto the ball too long.

The first one can help mitigate the latter two with better game planning and being aware of your current personnel.

Some of those sacks were also caused by blown assignments like BRob not blocking the end rushing. Need to clean up and Wylie needs to do his job instead of talking about it.
