Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

Looks like the difference between last year and this year is the defense is sloppier. Same old offense, just a different shirt calling the plays. I was expecting a more wide open offense, but they appeared to get more conservative as the game wore on. Going to bed now...

Whats up with the non-call on the DB hitting our WR late??

You know ST would have drawn that call.

BS.

What would make them think that he could make that kick? That was a poor coaching decision. I don't care if it was only 48 yards.

For some unknown f-ing reason Gibbs loves John Hall when all Hall has done is screwed up. This is bullshit.

100 million dollars and there isn't one good f-ing kicker on the whole goddamned team.

defensive secondary was abysmal. archuleta was nowhere except for penalties or getting his ass lit on fire. john hall needs to get his ass cut

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

The game came down to these two things:

1) Too many missed redzone opportunities by our offense.

2) Too many 3rd down conversions given up on defense.

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

Apparently Gibbs was concerned for a reason considering the preseason. Greg Williams also said that he is concerned about the defense. Looks like he had reason as well. Well, we have 6 days to prepare for Dallas. Good luck to us. We gotta play better. Kudos to Minn though, they played better than everyone thought they would. They are a real contender in their division.

NYCSkin 09-11-2006 10:31 PM

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

Johnson, Williamson, Robinson, and Wiggins lit up this secondary. Even with the drops. Well now we have Bledsoe, T.O., Glenn, and Whitten. Be afraid...

I was expecting a much better performance but I'm a little dissapointed, espically in the defense. We've got a lot of improving to do.

Put campbell in and let him scramble and move the pocket.Screw brunnell and his manage the game bullshit. It gets you field goals and losses.Time to go with the future.

AlvinWalton'sNeckBrace 09-11-2006 10:42 PM

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

I can't say I think anything of that mess some might call a game is Brunell's fault...he threw 0 interceptions, and I believe wasn't even sacked. The defense looked like they're all ready for a retirement community, and the offense just didn't get it done in the redzone.

Two things to think about for next week though:

1. Portis will start and get a lot of carries

2: Springs will shore up the other side of the field

Portis looked good. I don't think Springs will be on the field.

too many throw aways.need to keep the plays alive longer.Im not saying its his fault for loss i just think we need a spark at QB.and campbell can give us that.

AlvinWalton'sNeckBrace 09-11-2006 10:52 PM

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

unless campbell can play linebacker, I don't think he should be in there

Chief X_Phackter 09-11-2006 11:02 PM

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

The bottom line is we didn't execute the offense any better than we did in preseason...vice a few decent plays. The defense had 0 pressure on the quarterback (which I didn't expect at all). At home...TODAY (9/11), with 94000+ behind you, you can't lose this game. If we played at Minnesota we would have lost by 20 the way we played. It's a short week, and we have a better team to play next week. I'm not impressed. This better be a good week of practice. Dallas will be hungry, especially considering what happened to them last year in Dallas against Washington. I just hope we will be more hungry.

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)

The calls for Campbell are absolutely ridiculous.

We need to give the offense a few more weeks to come together. Bringing in an inexperienced QB at this point isn't going to solve anything and it would be an act of desperation. 0-1 is not time to hit the panic button.

Relax. 15 games to go.

Vikes fan here (in case you didnt notice)

Good hard fought game tonight. I was a little nervous at the half, as well as the end when the skins were driving. Hall would have made that kick 5 years ago. The skins showed some positives tonight, especially in the receiving corps. I think you guys will rebound, especially after kicking the shiznit out of the cowgirls next week. Two primetime games in a row. Good luck in the NFC east, looks to be quite a tough division this year.

:goodjob:
The D has been a bigger letdown than the O if you ask me.
For me, the D was definately a bigger letdown than the O. I didn't expect the offense to be brilliant and it wasn't. I didn't expect the defense to be mediocre (generally stout against the run and sub-par against the pass) but it was.
