Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Fact of the matter is, if anyone is down to the third stringer they're in deep trouble.
However, I think the opportunity to let Brunell get out of here and possibly get Seattle to absorb some or most of his contract is a great window of opportunity for the Redskins. Let's face it, he's not here past next year anyway. |
T.O killa you said on an earlier post something like lord help us if we have to rely on palmer...lol His first real action in the nfl and you come up with somthing like that? come on man...personally i think the guy will end being pretty good. you can honestly judge someone off of their first performance? hell you should be a coach then. whata joke you're.
What makes you think that? Maybe you should be a scout if you can tell from last night and maybe that scrimmage that he "will end [up] being pretty good?

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
lmao... Im going by what he said and all im saying is that he's talking down about him after his FIRST performance. Im sure his brother or any other qb was lighting it up after there first but there sure are some good ones out there. goota look at the positives he done not just the negs there arty.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
I wonder....I wonder if we are trying to work a three way deal f involving Brunell.
You know, trade MB to the Seahags then get someone like Chris Simms in here to back up Collins and put Palmer on the PS. Thoughts? |

Plus, wouldn't it be cool to piss his dad Phil off going to his former rival? |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
I cannot stand Chris Simms. I don't want his punk ass anywhere near Washington.

Do you remember that play (can't remember which game) when he took off for a run and then walked back on the field taunting us and waving his hand like, "come and get me sucker". He hadn't been a starter long and he had the balls to taunt someone? Asshole! |

I'd rather take a chance on Palmer.
It's not that I think he's all that good, he's just a bit of known commodity that's all. He's probably more back up material anyway. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Do we even have a link or specifics on this yet?

Everyone on the Bucs roster is a backup. I do not like him, and I feel that he's overrated because his daddy was a good NFL QB. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Chris Simms looks liek a littel kid. Everytime he gets tackled I cringe.

No links because both sides are tight lipped about everything. But I would have to guess, if so many sources are reporting this as a "rumor", it had to leak from someone within.. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
my purposed trade: Brunell traded to seatle for a 5th round. The 5th round sent to tampa bay for Mark Clayton. Clayton to the skins

How can this be a done deal and no one has officially agreed to come out and say so? We should probably stop talking about this (10 pages already) until something concrete is said. |

Oh my goodness, why do you want Tampa's junk? The man couldn't overtake a crew of poor WR's, what makes you think he'll do well here. How about this, get the draft pick and freakin draft a WR next year. |

Well, I think we should give our guys a shot and not undercut them by bringing in another WR. We are wreckless with our draft picks, and we should keep it. I'm actually disappointed to hear it will likely be a 5th rounder we get for Brunell, so unless Seattle absorbs the majority of his salary and cap figures, then this is a dumb deal. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Brunell is a 3rd QB on our roster, other teams no that so don't expect a high pick, go to example Green, Trent.

I know we have said that here a bunch of times, but when was this officially said by a Redskins official? |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Washington post:
Sources close to Brunell said the veteran had been told nothing about a trade being completed, or even close, after the game. This smells like the Atlanta rumor to me. |

That's what we do here...speculate on rumors (this from someone residing at "Camp Scrub," what the hell does he know anyway?). Seriously though, don't some of us truthfully find it at least a little entertaining to follow some of these rumors? |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
listen guys, and this is as credible of a source that I could find. I simulated a year of Madden 08, and Brunell retires after this season. Therefore why wouldnt you want a draft pick for your number 3 QB, and a guy who is 37!!!
If we get to our number 3 QB we have more to worry about then who it is. How many #3 QBs get a draft for their trade value? |

Amen. I agree very much. Not impressed with him last night. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
wait were not getting a first round pick for brunell?
in all seriousness any draft pick would be a plus, brunell had one decent game against the jags scrubs but other than that he looked helpless |

Check out JLac's latest chat on the Post website for his take on all this--pretty skeptical.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
From the article just posted:
"This thing got way blown out of proportion on TV. No trade is imminent and the Skins have to determine if they would even be wanting to move him at all given how the fact they have no other decent options for a third Qb themselves." So yeah... Looks like channel 9 jumped the gun on that one. |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
This whole idea is idiotic.
If anyone would be/should be on the trading block it would be Collins...he's the QB who sat out the last game (usually what happens to a player before a trade). Cambell #1 Brunell #2 Collins #3 Deal with it, people. :D |
Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Nice way to get some extra picks, but damn Brunell didn't look bad last night and Palmer only got a half of playing time in the whole preseason which is why I said it was a waste to even draft him. I like the move, but it is a dumb setup. Why didn't they give Palmer more time like a lot of us wanted? I mean sure, if we have to rely on Palmer our season probably is toast, but give the team a fighting chance. Doesn't make sense to me why they give him so little playing time if they knew they were going to unload MB.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Looks like Brunell might go back to where it all started. I'm sure that would be his first choice. I say we do an even swap. I would love to have Leftwich as a back up and I know he grew up a huge Redskins fan so I’m sure he would like it too if he could stand being a 2nd string QB. I'm sure Leftwich's contract would screw the whole thing up though.
The Jaguars are also trying to acquire a veteran quarterback to serve as a backup and may turn to former Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell. Team and league sources said that former starter Byron Leftwich will likely be traded or released ESPN - Sources: Jags to name Garrard starting QB for '07 - NFL |
