Yeah, I mean here are the Cowboys on their way to a victory that would not only be their first EVER in historic Lambeau Field, but also put his team at 3-0, and he just looks dejected and pissed off. Why TO? Poor little TO upset to see Miles Austin catch two long balls? As great as he is on the field, he is a total ass. |

Put Owens on the Rams, or Miami, and he will disappear. Well minus the crying and bitching to get him the ball, or trade him to a good team. Moss had to suffer on one of the worst teams in the NFL in oakland. Here is who Owens had throwing the majority of the passes to him over the years. Steve Young (hall of famer) Elvis Grbac (pro bowler without TO fyi) Jeff Garcia (4 time pro bowler) Donovan McNabb (5 time pro bowler, possible HOFer when career is over) Drew Bledsoe (4 time pro bowler and possible HOFer) Tony Romo Here is who Moss had throwing to him: Randall Cunningham Brad Johnson Jeff George Dante Culpepper Kerry Collins Andrew Walter Aaron Brooks Tom Brady (only 1 season mind you) Matt Cassel Which list would you rather have to this point? Keep in mind you'd only get Brady for 1 season. ps- there have been several comments about Moss's polished route running. He is a complete WR. Also, Moss has 126 TD's and Owens has 134 tds...only 8 different, yet Owens is 4 years older. Yeah no doubt. It was an amazing recovery from an ugly injury, but his sole motivation was to run his mouth and parade his antics on the biggest of stages. I can't recall an athlete in recent memory I loathe like TO... OH WAIT! Another Cowboys receiver- that whore-monger coke head Michael Irvin... |

Ahhh, not so fast. Charles Woodson did a great job locking down TO last night despite having a broken toe. Look, no one here is debating TO greatness on the field. But show me a wide receiver who consistently puts up big numbers without a good if not great QB? There's an obvious, direct correlation between good quaterback play and productive receivers. And on Miles Austin's TD grab he was far from "unaccounted for." He was tightly covered and made a great catch. Plus Al Harris and Atari Bigby were both injured, so that side of the field was being covered by backups. I would say QB's make WR's look better far more often than vice versa. More often than not big time catches are only made possible because of big time throws. Which comes first? |
Re: Cowboys Wk 4
You can keep playing the numbers game all day but be for real...if you were playing a pick-up game would you pick Randy before TO?????

I never make an argument on a guy based on production/numbers alone. I have seen enough of TO to know that he is a gamebreaker. HOWEVER the argument I made was that, in my opinion he is not the greatest wide reciever ever because he drops way too many passes. You called out jsarno saying he sounded like a dallas fan when your the one making this rediculous argument. He backed it up with a completely legitimate and well thought out post and all you have to say is "If TO were on a different team..." |

Sometimes it's not worth making the argument that will fall on deaf ears. Problem is, he is being shown facts, but he would rather believe his opinion. When he said I was sounding stupid, I think we all saw it was him, except of course, himself. It's no big deal. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. I have already stated that Owens is an elite WR, but unless I say he is the best ever, this guy will try to insult. LOL. His comments should be laughed at, not responded to. |

Re: Cowboys Wk 4
Man the key to winning this game is stopping jason witten.. Man he's been killing defenses on 3rd down... and he always starts off blocking then releses into the open with out being covered.. If we stop t.o. with shawn springs and some safetie help.. We got to figure out a way to rattle tony romo... by sending blitzs from different angles.... man I pumped for this game I think we can beat dallas.. There not that good to me.. And when we get pressure on tony romo.. We have to get him down we can be letting him escape then were going to get beat in are man coverage... and we got to get clinton portis going this week even tho he had a decent week last week.. I just wait lol

That could work, but do the math here. You are talking about blitzing, which means sending extra LB's (meaning those LB's are not in coverage), then double-coverage on TO, that means a DB and a safety on one guy, that leaves a CB and safety for the other WR's on the field. And with the LB's blitzing and your DB's and safeties occupied that will leave either Witten or Crayton or Austin in man coverage, which is a match-up QB's look for. I am not even going to mention spreading the defense out by putting Felix Jones in motion and in a pass pattern. What you are talking about is exactly what the Packers did on defense and they got beat. You send those LB's in on a blitz from different angles, then the middle of the field is open and Witten will have a feast. And that is the magic of having a WR like Owens, he demands so much attention from the defense it opens up other opportunities for other players on offense by drawing the coverage away from them. This is why I have always said that T.O. does not need 7 catches and 100+ yards to be a factor in the game. Just his presence on the field is enough. |

Romo is not that great at reading defenses and can be rattled. The big problem is that Dallas has a great OL who generally pick up the blitz and give Romo time. If you can disguise the blitz and catch the OL offguard, Romo can be rattled. And as far as Owens, you have to punish him. Whether he makes the catch or not, hit him hard just like Sean Taylor always did. He doesn't like that and it definitely affects his game. I think Witten is the key. He will be a tough matchup for us. We can stop Barber with LB help, but that lets Witten free up and he will kill us. If our offense can keep the ball for some long drives and keep the defense fresh we have a shot, but we have to play a perfect game. |

It will come down to the Time of Possesion battle. If the Redskins are able to sustain long offensive drives throughout the game, it accomplished two things. 1. Most importantly, it keeps the Dallas offense off the field and limits thier number of possesions. 2. It will keep the Dallas defense on the field and they will get tired around the middle of the 3rd quarter and Portis and Betts can take over. |

Spring looks better then he has in years. You can talk all you want, but we'll see if T.O. does s&@# against him this year.
A little like the pot calling the kettle black. Dallas secondary had one HALF of a bad game against the Eagles. The second half of that game the Eagles only managed 7 points and McNabb was sacked 4 times due to coverage.
Rodgers was sacked 5 times last night due to coverage sacks. And the Redskins secondary is ONLY allowing 10 yards less per game in the air than the Dallas secondary. Not to mention that you are facing the #1 offense in the league next Sunday. Washington will not win on Sunday.
For those of you who do not understand "cowboyese", let me interpret. Yup. I know this might sound crazy, but I chalk up those stats to the absence of one Sean Taylor. Owens was absolutely terrified of Taylor. Between 2004 and 2006, Owens racked up a mere 18 receptions for 165 yards and 2 TDs. That's an average of 4 receptions for 41 yards (10 yards per catch) and 1/2 a TD per game. In TO's first game against the Sean Taylor-less Redskins, he racked up 8 receptions for 173 yards and 4 TDs. In other words, in one game, TO managed to rack up more receiving yards and touchdowns against the Redskins than he had in the previous 3 years. |
